What did I expect...At least I didn't use a boost. Keeps the disappointment rather low.

Round 14 - Oulton Park - The Race part 2/3

And we're back with Edvardsen trying to pass Aspenström

Vilela opens the first rounds of pitstops

He's followed by Kederer and Vukcevic

Vilela now in 12th

Kederer and Vukcevic rejoin in 19th and 20th place

One lap later Johnson and Marinescu come in

In the meantime Edvardsen has passed Aspenström

Copeman now comes in while Johnson gets back out in 16th

Marinescu is 20th after the stop, Copeman one place behind him

Jantsher is the next one on Edvardsen's list, but not this time

Second placed Silvestre now comes in for his stop

Meanwhile Edvardsen tries again, but Jantsher still keeps him behind

Brilley in the pits

While Silvestre gets out in 5th right in front of Hunsley

Brilley rejoins in 20th

Kamikaze is the next one to come in for fresh tyres

And Edvardsen finally passes Jantsher

Just to come in a few seconds later

McGregor follows him in the pitlane

Kamikaze back out in 8th behind Byrne and Girard, who both are yet to stop

Vukcevic is off the track, he has problems with the throttle and has to retire!

Edvardsen is in 18th after his stop, McGregor in 20th

The leader comes in the pits, he needs a quick service now to stay in front of Silvestre

Much action in the pitlane, Nikolov, Tafuro, Hunsley, Girard and Byrne all come in, too!

de Boer on the way back to the track, and it looks like the car passing him is Silvestre

It is! Silvestre takes the lead, he's done some very quick laps after his stop.

de Boer now in 2nd

Nikolov back on track in 3rd

Aspenström in the pits, followed by Antunis

Tafuro rejoins in 6th

Hunsley is 8th

Girard now in 12th, Byrne right behind him in 13th

Aspenström in 17th

Antunis rejoins between Copeman and McGregor in 19th

Jantsher and Silva are the last ones to make their first stop

McGregor has the warmer tyres and could get past Antunis very quick

Hunsley is on fire! This will pretty sure end his race

Meanwhile Jantsher and Silva are out of the pits in 15th and 17th

And Hunsley stops his car, an engine failure forces him to retire.

Tafuro uses his fresh tyres and sets a new fastest lap

Silva goes out of Aspenström's slipstream

But he can't pass him yet.

Tafuro is the fastest man at the moment, and now tries to overtake Vilela

And he makes the move

Half of the race is done, and Antunis and Copeman are still fighting

French-German battle for 8th position

Girard tries to make the pass

But Kederer hangs on and stays in front

Just look how close this is, and Byrne now has joined their battle

Girard now getting impatient, therefore makes a mistake and gets the wrong line through the chicane

This gives Byrne the chance to pass the Frenchman

But Girard holds him behind

Aspenström locks up, this allows Silva to pass him easily

Kederer makes the same mistake as Girard one lap before

Byrne now right behind him, and Girard at his side

Kederer shuts the door for Girard, this puts Byrne besides Girard

And Byrne is in 9th now, and right behind Kederer

Oh no, he brakes too late and they touch!

But both can keep the control of their cars and avoid to spin

While we've watched the three-way fight, Edvardsen has passed Brilley

Tafuro on a run, he has closed the gap to Kamikaze

And immediately tries to overtake him

Kamikaze wants to defend his position, but he goes off the racing line and runs wide in Island Bend

Another high speed spin, and he too manages to keep the control of his car

He continues in 6th place, Vilela now in front of him in 5th

And with the second round of pitstops to come soon, it's time for a final break. We'll be back soon!

move out of the way, Italy's on fire! ;)

Round 14 - Oulton Park - The Race final part

Welcome back to the final laps of the race, the action already continues. Girard wants to re-overtake Byrne

But he was way to optimistic here and touchs Byrne's right rear tyre

Wow, that was really close, Byrne is very luck to not crash into the tyrewall in this situation

Both cars are undamaged, but Girard is in front now and Marinescu, Edvardsen and Brilley join this fight

Girard pits in the same lap, maybe the team has decided to do the second stop immediately to check the car

McGregor and Aspenström come in too for their final stops

Girard back out right behind Copeman, he has to pass him quickly now if he doesn't want to lose too much time

McGregor and Aspenström rejoin in 18th and 19th

de Boer comes in for his last stop, followed by Nikolov

The Dutchman gets out right behind Vilela in 4th, Nikolov in 5th

Kederer in the pits

Girard brakes too late and hits Copeman!

He spins, and Copeman is in the gravel!

Power spin by Girard, and he continues in 17th. But he has lost some valuable seconds

Copeman was not so lucky, he had to wait a bit before he could rejoin in 19th

Meanwhile Jantsher has come in the pits

Kederer is in 14th after his stop, Jantsher in 17th

de Boer tries to overtake Vilela

With success. He'll now try to do some fast laps to re-pass Silvestre who is yet to pit

Silva comes in the pits, and gets out in 14th

Antunis on the way to his crew

Aspenström has passed Jantsher for 17th, no good race for both today

McGregor comes in again! He has electrical problems only 3 laps after his planned stop.

Antunis gets out in 15, as Copeman comes in for his last stop

McGregor now in 18th, it's definitely not his day today

Copeman rejoins in 19th

Vilela comes in, as do Kamikaze, Johnson and Brilley

Vilela gets back out in 7th place

Kamikaze in 9th, behind him Johnson in 10th

Brilley now behind Silva in 13th

Silvestre pits from the lead, will he stay in front of de Boer?

Tafuro comes in, too

And Silvestre stays in front! But de Boer is really close...

Tafuro back out in 4th

Byrne comes in, followed by Edvardsen

Marinescu also pits, and he almost spins in the pitlane as he brakes much too late!

Byrne now in 8th

Edvardsen two places behind him in 10th

Marinescu in 13th behind Brilley

With all the stops done, let's take a look at the standings

It looks like de Boer isn't able to go Silvestre's pace

Edvardsen right behind Kederer as Silvestre sets a new fastest lap

Side by side on the way to Island Bend!

And Kederer stays in front

Another fastest lap by Silvestre, seems that he doesn't want to give de Boer any chance

Here's a replay of Tafuro trying to pass Nikolov

Wow, he was much faster here on the straight, he's already in front before they go in the corner

And while we've seen the replay Edvardsen has passed Kederer

Looks like Silvestre will take the win

Here comes another replay, and that's Tafuro spinning! He was too fast in Hislop's!

This drops him behind Nikolov again

Seems that Kederer can't get his tyres to work, Silva now at his back

Side by side on the way to Shell Oils Corner

But Kederer has the inside and stays in front

The same again one lap later

No one wants to give up here

But Silva has the better line in Britten's and gets past

Byrne very close to Johnson

That was too close! He touches the back of Johnson's car and spins!

Oh no! Someone has crashed into him!

It's Edvardsen!

Both men have to pit for a new front wing now

Here they come in

Edvardsen gets back out in 14th, Byrne in 15th

Silvestre has started the last lap

Laps Aspenström just before the last corner

And he wins the English Grand Prix!

de Boer finishes second

Nikolov completes the podium, Tafuro crosses the line in 4th just a few tenths behind

Vilela takes 5th

Kamikaze is 6th

Ben Johnson finishes in 7th

Silva after his off early in the race is 8th

9th place for Kederer

And the last point goes to Brilley

Official results follow soon.

Congratulations to Gianluigi Silvestre and Team San Marino!

Fastest lap was done by Edvardsen after his pitstop in the last lap

Not a good result, but seeing as no boost was used it's hardly surprising.

I've decided to carry on for S3, but will be with Spain instead of Austria. Are we still using the same carshape for next season?

I'd like to know that, too, before I give my car the final touch.

To start on pole, set the fastest lap and to fight back from basically last up to 9th position with a couple of laps to go, scoring no points is absolutely gutting!

Unless I'm very much mistaken... I am very much mistaken!

Wow! Well done, Nikolov! We're once again on the podium, proving that we have potential. Our aim at the start of our season was to finish in top 10 nations and we are about to achieve it.

Great, the pitstops worked well, happy with my second season win =)

Good to come in 2nd! Did hope for a win though - especially how we started here today! However San Marino were way to quick for us here, we couldn't get our tyres to work 100% since we put the car more on a rainy setup!
Hopefully we can get some closer to Sweden in the standings now and get up towards 2nd place :)

Yes, go under the assumption that we will, in fact, that this as an unofficial annoucement that the carshape shall remain the same for S3.

Good to see you sticking around Jake :)

As for my race... well it died before it had really started so theres not much i can say...

What a joke. Used plenty of boost in qual and race, and the results in both sessions were bloody awful!

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
wasnt expecting much because i didnt use any boost now for maximum boosts for the next 2

Disappointing race for Portugal only 8th after spent 500 with boost for the race.

-----------------------------------------------------

According to my quick calculations:

1. Sweden 74
2. Netherlands 66
3. Germany 65
-. France 65*
5. San Marino 58
6. Italy 57
7. Austria 56
8. Japan 52
-. Bulgaria 52**
10. Portugal 43

* Germany in front as they scored more 4th places (2nd and 3rd places just as many!)
** Japan in front since they have won one time this season

This means Sweden got quite a gap to defend, since 2nd place keeps switching no-one really has come much closer!
Still 36 points max to go, so we'll see!
