GPGSL Season 6 Complete!

Posted by GPGSL
Many of you are being unfair with Dan and Mal. They had an idea, and it turned out to be unsuccessful. That can happen to everyone, and it's no reason to start shooting bullets at both of them. From my view, it was amusing, but I still prefer the normal coverage with normal commentary and in a decent waiting time. But I am not to blame Dan, nor Mal. Try to RD a round, and try to have a nice idea yourself instead of just criticising.

I think it's great to see some different approaches to race reports, like this or the video edits we've had in the past.

Did so twice last season. I know how hard it is to do the RD job - for that, I am more than aware of how much work needs to be done. For that, I appreciate the work Dan and Mal have done.

However.

For starters, the delay between qualifying and the race was a little silly - especially as there was no comment from either Mal or Dan as to why there was such a long delay.

Secondly, the photo editing was overdone and (personally) it felt tacky - possibly because of me preferring the photos to be untouched (along the same lines as Ben).

Thirdly, the jokes didn't really work. Personally, those kinds of jokes only really work if you're doing a vocal commentary (and as such, a video package) - for with text commentary, there is no emotion, so trying to be over the top feels hollow, and it seems pretentious.

Finally, as I said, events were missed (whether that is down to Mal not taking screenshots of the events in question or Dan not placing them in the coverage, I have no idea). The whole point of coverage is to capture every bit of incident within a race - so missing out events leads to sub-par coverage quality.

I fully applaud the effort done by both, but the humour (photo and commentary-wise) felt like it was lacking - especially as the whole point of it WAS to be funny, it seems.

Thank you both. Hope this constructive criticism can help you towards improved coverage in the future - do not give up just because of negative reviews. :)

Dean, you read my mind. Perhaps photoshpped pics and funny commentary in a healthy amount (not much, not few) could make a very good race coverage. As he said, don't give up guys, you can always improve.

GPGSL Announcement

From the commencement of Season 7, team owners that are inactive will receive the following penalties. First inactive penalty: a 10 point constructors title reduction. Second inactive penalty: a 15 point constructors title reduction. Third inactive penalty: Team forfeiture. The team will be passed intact to the number 1 race driver for management till the end of the season, whereupon it will then be passed to the first on the team wait list.
This amendment to the rules has been brought into place when it was pointed out to the GPGSL that no penalty as such exists for team owners. We as a group hope that we will not have to apply these penalties.

I "may" be available to do a race weekend as RD "IF" the timing is right, and a race is ready to be run the weekend of 17-18th Sept. Got a few days off there.... So, if needed, I can put my hand up to take it on...

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
I hope to return on the podium on Spa! That would be a dream come true..

The bad results lately are not very motivating, but I want to give the team the results that we deserve!

still don't get why Spa isn't a wet one!?

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it
rain would certainly help us. i guess our bhp disadvantage will be quite big in dry conditions but this season was rubbish anyway so i don't really care about the last few races

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
The weather is a random draw, that is why Spa is not a wet race, it could be wet in another season.

No rain, I don't want to waste our boost because of the rain.

+1

There's a mistake in the perfs, it should be me instead of Ruben as tester for TSS.

Ok, thanks for that. The perfs are on hold until they are checked and declared GREEN.

I'll have a look at it when I get home this evening.

5 x WCC - S5, S6, S7, S8, S10 | 4 x WDC - S5 Nick van der Voort ; S6, S7, S8 Ed Greenhalgh | 2 x WTC - S6 Stuart Ingers; S8 Andrei Sevastian
Oh damn,
I forgot to change a code there. I will change that and doublecheck everything again later, so that the perfs should be green in a few hours. Sorry for that

Lol, Stu was faster. Anyway, I'll do it cause I have the file and I already know where the mistake is. Just can't do it right now as it's already in the middle of the night and I'm in bed using the notebook.

Nice, a near home grand prix coming up here. Always nice to return to the Spa track.
Here are hopes for a strong showing of the VSM team.

I've used a cheeky little boost, so I'm hoping for a good race.
