Sauber Statement

We, the new management at Sauber would like to thank the rest of the F1 paddock for their support before this new season.

However, we would also like to state that due to high travel costs, we will not be participating in the Sepang test - and instead are electing to test at Jerez. The previous management's commitment to test at Silverstone will be honoured.

Just been putting in the helmets ready for the new season and i have a couple of issues im hoping you guys can help me with. I have 8 drivers i need helmets for. 6 of them i have helmets but they're tga files and not tex files. Any ideas how to convert them?

That leaves Wilson and Verstappen who i can't find 2004 helmets for. Does anybody know where i can find them for the Arai shape. If not we can use someone elses helmet.

BARCELONA PRE SEASON TEST SESSION

Pre season testing for the F1 2004 season got underway today. The first pre season test was carried out at the Barcelona track, as Jordan, BAR, Renault and Jaguar all turned up to show off their new cars ready for the season. The test session was sunny with no chance of rain. Teams focusing on performance seem to have had an average day while teams focusing on reliability had a very good session. As to which teams are focusing on what is at their discretion to release.

Pizzonia testing the Jaguar

Sato in the new BAR

World Champion Raikkonen settling into his new car from Renault

Button pushing Jordan in his first outing for the team

Test times at the end of the day.

1. Raikkonen (Renault) 1m17.517
2. R Schumacher (BAR) 1m17.801
3. Sato (BAR) 1m17.855
4. Wilson (Renault) 1m17.879
5. Button (Jordan) 1m18.153
6. Webber (Jaguar) 1m18.236
7. Pizzonia (Jaguar) 1m18.442
8. De La Rosa (Jordan) 1m18.458

Also let me know if you want to stick your 3rd driver in a test in replace of one of your race drivers. This won't affect your teams result of the test.

NOTE for MDBSnake can you let me know what you want to focus on in testing as your mailbox is full cheers

TEAM RENAULT STATEMENT

we are very happy with the performance of our new driver Kimi Raikkonen. And also Justin Wilson showed he is talented driver.
but still we could not compare us with the other top teams as ferrari, williams and mclaren.

anyway, being on the top of the list is always important.

Sauber Statement

With the backing of all other teams in Formula 1, we at Sauber have elected to modify the driver line-up that the previous management team had given to us previously.

Whilst we wish him luck for the future and hope he returns to F1 soon, we have decided to remove Ralph Firman from his position as test driver.

Sauber, as everyone knows, is a Swiss team at its roots - and we hope that our involvement in Formula 1 will provide a chance for young talented Swiss drivers to make a name for themselves in the highest echelons of motorsport. As a result, we have negotiated a deal with young driver Neel Jani to take the 2nd race driver role at the team - as we feel that the experience Giancarlo Fisichella currently provides would be better suited to the test track.

#10 Neel Jani

I'm not greatly happy with Jordan at Barcelona. We clearly are lacking pace and hopefully this can be addressed.

Toyota Statement

After mixed performances in pre-season testing Toyota Boss Chris Copeman still seemed upbeat ahead of the opening to the 2004 championship. "Yes testing performances haven't been great but I am still of the opinion that we have one of the best young driver lineups on the grid and by signing Felipe and Timo we have committed ourselves to a long term project."
