Hey, it's my birthday today and I'm away from home for the rest of the week, so I won't be able to do you a helmet. But if you download the helmet shapes and textures (download link on the first side of this thread) you'll find two .psd files in there. These you can paint with GIMP or CS3 for example. Then save them as a .tga file and download ZModeler. With this programm you can open the helmet shape file you downloaded and then import your saved .tga files. This way you'll see how the finished helmet would look like. Play a bit with this and you'll learn what parts you have to paint for getting this or that result.
When you're done with this, send me a PM and I'll tell you how to convert your .tga files into .tex files for using them in GP4.
I hope this little tutorial was helpful, don't have any more time to tell you more exactly. Maybe any other participant here can help you any further anyway.

Phil Oakley on pole.
He gets off to a great start!
Problems at the back as Koemmerer and Groeneboer tangle.
Rick coming off decidely worse.
A bit of bumping and barging at the next corner too.
Oakley streaking ahead sets the fastest lap.
Another fastest lap.
Stefan van Renselaar flat spots his tyres.
Randy Winston has sandy moment in his not so Lucky 7 as Oakley sets fastest lap again.
DFR team mates squabble over 15th.
Hinz uses some of his whoop-ass.
Unseen by the GPGSL Camera Muppets, both Houston and Aleksander have passed van der Voort.
The DFR twins at it again.
Santilal takes Tafuro for 8th.
Aleksander closing on Houston.
