Good evening, folks
The Istanbul track by Schaller and Ruboy is finished.
It's been a long and huge projcet which I have started in last december and now after 9 months it has finally come to an end - to an successful one in my opinion
Thanks to Schaller for letting me modify his version. His GP4 Istanbul track version 1.0 was the first one for GP4 and initially I planned to create a small update with high resolution textures.
But I had so many ideas that I decided to make profound modifications and while working on this I gained a lot of new experiences
And ideas never kept ending so that it took so long
My aim was to make the track as realsitic as possible. I recorded the race and this way had good material to work with. I paid attention to a lot of details and tried to reconstruct them exactly after watching the video for hours and hours
A positive aspect is that work by many different authors is part of this track which makes it special, too. If different authors contribute the quality of tracks will be increased in most cases
Please consider that this is a track from 2005 - not 2006 , so there might be differences (other adverts, new grass, etc.) when watching this year's GP.
Well, let's give some information about the track now:

Known bugs- The structure of the Istanbul pit building does not match the default GP4 pit building structure, hence some cars are placed behind a mid wall or even in another garage. This bug cannot be fixed at the moment - only if editing car position in the pits will be possible in the future.
- The .col file is not perfect. It would be far too much work to adjust it the way that it matches the positions of gravel and tarmac strips. Only if future versions of 3DEditor will make more detailed .col file editing easier this issue will be corrected. That's why all blue gravel areas behave like tarmac because the tarmac surface is nearer to the track than the gravel areas.
- Unfortunately the track is 600 m too short. This cannot be fixed but laptimes are neverthelless realsitic so that this issue is not really noticeable.
Known issuesThe track MIGHT crash on exit. To avoid this enable debug mode in GPxPatch.

Thanks to Tony and Ricardo for hosting.
PLEASE READ the
gp4form.txt files to install this track and the update correctly !!!
You need TSM (Trackset manager) by ZaZ for installing this track.
If you do not have TSM then get it here: [
files.vadertrophy.com]
NOTE: You do NOT need TSM for playing this track. The track has been released as a TSM file for compression reasons. You only need TSM for extracting the track. You CAN use TSM, but you DO NOT HAVE TO. Later you can also install it the 'classic' way.
You need the track 'Istanbul 2005' for using the hi-res update - don't just download the hi-res update!
Check the attached gp4form.txt for further information.
Have fun
Martin
