One hint for future track projects as I have seen this at some new tracks:
Set kerb distance d1 to 0 (default it is set to 10), this way you avoid having the samll stripe of grass between kerb and track.

Help! I am making a new cc-line for Canon F1 Circuit. It works fine until section c7 - then it crashes, no matter which values are set for cc-line:(
Why?

Does it cross the boundary?

@Ruboy: send me the .dat and i will have a look at it.

There is a bug in some ccline related code, and it will be fixed in next 3dEd. So maybe that's the reason of your ccline problem.

@Ruboy:

The problem is caused by a (known) bug in some ccline related code (just what i thought). This bug only gives problems in some special cases. I've already fixed it some time ago, so it will be fixed in next 3dEd release.

Is it nevertheless possible to avoid this bug? As there was another completely working cc-line befor I deleted it in order to make a new one, it shows that it was possible? Mabe I should shorten or lenghten section c6?

I've got a little bug at the s/f line.

On the right side you see a part of the wall is somewhat lighten up, that's because it's missing a 'ray of light'. Is there a method to add the missing 'ray of light' in the gp4 file?

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?

ray of light...thats a madonna song isn't it?????anyway can't relly see what you mean from the screenie.....when you were applying the textures to the fences & inverting umapping....did you hit normals by mistake.???????this can result in brighter /darker sections of fence.....

or do you mean the right hand side of the track by s/f is in shadows????????

track looks good by the way...................

No, i think that will be hard. An erroneous value is computed at the beginning of the track which causes a slighlty different result. This means the next sector uses a wrong value causing bigger differences. And so on ...

Ok, I'll wait for the next version of 3DEditor - hopefully not too long;-)

@Turbo Lover:
The ray of light is missing because the normal is not correct for the last (and first ?) two points of the rails.
Just edit the normal manualy for these points or use the compute normals function (you will maybe need to reverse normals after).

@Ruboy:
waiting for the new version that might still take some time, you can already use the old method to build your cc-line.
That means checking cc-cars line in game and fix the cc-line in 3deditor to make it correct in the game whatever its (wrong) display in 3deditor.

For anyone struggling with the pitlane of their track still, I've got a picture that I've made for use with my track editing tutorial. It's hi-res, so apologies for those of you on 56K connections.

Hope this helps you all :)

@Zeppelin101: the pits end flag isn't really needed by GP4. GP4 computes the pits end position based on the pits start flag. However, i think it is useful for 3dEd because it is a nice reference for creating the pitbox area.

So you've tested a track with the flag not in place?
