I see...the editing stays open when it should not. I will fix this for next version. Thanks again :)

no problem :)

another thing - this time about bins. i've made some minor changes to hockenheim (semi straightened the chicanes) so the overall lenght is about the same, but the track bin is much smaller - about 140kb and the default one is 300kb or so.
is that a bug in my track, a bug in 3De, or normal?

.bin file size is directly dependant of the number of sectors.
The difference between original .bin and 3ded ones is that 3ded do no provide yet any subdivision of sectors when original tracks have subdivided sectors.
These additional sectors are the reason for the almost double size of some original .bin files.

love it when you use that word ;)
does subdividing sectors mean we'll have smoother edges/lines?
ok about bin size, thanks for explaining :)
(but i've only deleted about 40 sectors and added 40 so over 1000 are untouched)

:)
smoother curves edges, yes.
I thought you were comparing an original .bin and an edited one...if you compared two edited ones, I have no explanations then...

Sounds like something else to look forward to ;-)

@Lo2k: I fixed the stand problem I was having in 3d ed, I tried just computing normals before I rotated it and it was fine after that :)

Hello people,

I'm making the A1gp track Lausitzring, I made the circuit and also the oval ring. I't very dificult to make this, right now my problem is that when i play the game, the cpu is so high that i almost can't drive the track. Is it because of the size of the 3d model of the track? Did i made some textures to big? I made 1 grass texture with a size of 1024 by 1024 and some texs 512 by 512. With other high resolution tracks my computer has no problem..why is that..any idea's ?

If only this track is causing such slowdown, it has obviously something to do with this particular track file but it's impossible to say what's wrong only trough text reports.
Could you put your track online for a private or public temporary share, this I or anyone else could try the track and check what's wrong with it ?

you don't happen to have made the old textures transparent to hide the old objects?

Another question concerning PO:

Do crowds remarkably increase PO? I am not sure whether add additional hillcrowds for Istanbul or not.

No, crowds are made up (one "row anyway" of just two faces, so there shouldn't be a huge increase :)

But what about many crowds?:) e.g. 150 (300 faces)?

Consider this:

My stands have a total (or thereabouts) of over 2,000 faces, and there are 15 of them on the main straight. The PO before with A1-Ring stands was about 60, now it is around about 75, so 300 faces should yield a PO increase of very little :)

300 faces are nothing :)

Tumke problem is that he did what he wrote : he built circuit AND ring in the same .dat...

Ok, that's good. Well, thus there will be more people watching the action on track now:)
@Zep: Anyway, would you have a look at the finished version before release? Maybe you'll find some things to improve.
