for the features of gp4 builder itself, use the userguide included in the download, but for track making guides, either try the one on the first page, the ones on the RealGPx website [www.realgpx.com] or maverick's one - not sure where you can find that one at the moment unfortunately as he is making a new one

I'm having some problems with my track update.
Some banking textures are missing/flicker when I come close, and there's a full mountain missing in both onboard and tv-cameras..? Also pitlane tarmac has disappeared, and I can see some trees through walls and grass..

What could be wrong?
I can send pictures if needed.7

EDIT: Missing mountain fixed.

with the new gp4/col conversion you can now theoretically create walls on track, like the tyre walls used in the 1994 season after the deaths at Imola.

you can see this here

the walls show up in game, but you can drive straight through them

any ideas?

Don't quote me on this, but are they set as solid/ hard objects? Probably not right as I only started the other day ;)

Also, is there anyway I can quickly add trees around this corner, and in the same screenshot why does it look like that? (All the green/ white triangles).

SchueyFan, you'll probably need to build them into the dat

F33LTH3F0RC3, you've got .dat and .gp4 displayed, thats why it looks like that. duplicate the trees you have and move them.

Quick Question, Is there anyway that you can make shadows for a group of objects rather than individual ones?

@Schueyfan : you can create phisical walls like the one you are showing but you need to edit the .dat file.

@Feeltheforce : the only way is to group the objects and then create a shadow for the group but for trees, it would be better to create one shadow and copy/paste it as many times as there are trees.

Ah right ok, I presume I'd have to rename it to the name of the particular trees that I want shadow's on?

hmm, yep, you can rename shadows to match tree you're putting shadow on.

Gah somethings are confusing ;) Any got a nice recommenedation for shadow sizes?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to creating scenery for a track ;)

How would I get rid of the nothingness in the pitlane?

Edit: Gah I give up trying to make shadows tonight D:. If anyone wants to help me with my project then check out the Fantasy Track (W.I.P) Thread or drop me a PM :).

@Schueyfan : well, I don't know what method you used above but the right way to do it is to change left or right track width to make sector edge matching the wall you want to create.
Once track edges will match the wall you want to create, you might also need to use the equalize track center feature to get any better AI cc-line in the chicane.
