when working on estoril we encountered some objects being darker than other objects although they use the same texture. i remember having this problem a long time ago but i can´t remember the solution and i searched on various sites but found nothing. so if anyone knows...

@schueyfan: when you mark an object theres a small window with 4 boxes at advanced properties. everything has to be set 0 there. helped me once in a similar situation.

@Shueyfan: there are several things to check :
- first, you can recompute object coordinates (using the according button on object window)
- second, set flags to 0 as n00binio said
- third, use the fix part to object action menu
- fourth, you can also use the convert lods to object action menu. It might only be usefull if your track has been created with some original Imola objects.

@n00binio : be sure to check normals. You can display them by engaging the show normals menu or toolbar. Once done, you will see blue lines when you will select parts of your objects. All lines must point toward the exterior of the object to reflect light correctly.
You can also see normals trouble by selecting one of the special wireframe mode with front or back faces in the option menus if you are a little used to normals.
they are several ways to fix normals them, mostly by inverting normals themself and/or face vertice order.

is there an easy way to move the start finish line to a different part of the race. for example, if someone wanted to make the proposed new starting points at silverstone or donington, how could this be done? i'm not planning anything, just curious ;)

schuey.. IM NOT SURE but maybe if we change some values on track_00 it could be possible.

( hmm maybe not coz gp4 core reads track_00 as a starting point no matter what.. i think the only way possible is buiding a dat from a dif starting point..and we couldnt build a pitlane behind it..

There was rumours of a tool that would do that, but I haven't seen it.
The best thing would be to use the import/export database for some values - the banks would need to be rebuilt though.

@Laurent - I've noticed with 1.164 that fences added are not visible when textures are off. Also the left fences are not mapper correct when 16ft constant is checked.

@Schueyfan: no, there's no easy way but recreating the whole .dat actualy.

@B-tone: I will check about these items...can you post a picture showing an incorrect fence mapping ?

i've made some graphical updates on hocknheim 1991, i don't touch so much the dat (only redo the cc line with the new modifications). Howewer i need permission of SchueyFan, some textures come from his A1 Ring 2007 hi res (tarmac, grass, sand, rails).

What's new (only textures):

- new tarmac, grass, sand
- new rails, wall, kerbs
- new trees
- new horizon

yes, you can use any of the textures from the track, although ruboy deserves credit for most of them i think.

What's wrong are verges flags and not verge command.
Verges flag box is in the bottom right corner of each sector property window (the one that pops-up when you select a sector).

oh, thanks i missed that completely. thanks a lot. you´re saving me quite often in recent times. i deleted all kerbs and the warning messages disapeared. .dat wasn´t made by me so i can´t tell what went wrong.

why don't you do something like Macau, or a trac not used by F1 teams? it would make it more interesting for us non track builders. ;)

non f1 tracks are on my list, too. but that decision will be made when estoril is finished.
