hi gildoorf , no problem if you want help.. the bridge in the screen shot.// did you copy all the tex files for it??? collecting the objects & it's associated tex files takes a little time.. look at other tracks , see what you like..don't forget some objects may have more than one associated tex files with it.... there is an update for my tutorial coming soon , zepplin 101 found if you import an object from another track say your track is melbourne base. all the tex files will start with .melborne.001.page??? etc... when you import a new object from say brazil , change the prefix of the new tex file brazil ?? to melbourne???? if there is a melbourne tex file already in the folder with the same page number look at the highest/ last page number & go one higher... then just click on the object as before and add the renamed tex file/files to it.... oh yes very important... when you finish with the track,, because all the objects are now imported into scenes , you need to delete them & the tga files you copied from the gp4 folder.. otherwise when you rezip the wad , the file size will be very big... do not delete the tex files you copied into folder as new imported objects still need these to show...

Thanks for feedback on the tutorial.....

For anyone interested in making their own tracks:
check out james m & zepplin 101 excellent tutorials here.

Hi Jimbob and Jax,

Things are coming...

Did some tests placing textures...

But rails and verges are not sliced, so that only one texture covers the whole track. This does not happen to track sectors, which seems to be grouped on many sectors along the track. And when I applied Toyota sign it seems to be reflected sometimes.

@Jax: If I choose some logo signs, would you make me .tex adverts?

Here some pictures:

Thank you all. Trackmaking is really nice!

No problem, gildoorf, for making tex adverts. Choose and send me them when you want. Just let me know in which size you want each cause it depends where you place them. Or I can do several sizes for each and you'll take those are good for this place or this one. Do you understand what I mean ?

By the way, which name would you give to this track ? ;-)

Hurry, I´m at work now :)

@Jax: I think it should be better if I send you the .tex file I wanna change and the logo I want to exchange. Ok?

@Jimbob: Í´ve read great Zeppellin tutorial, printed and gonna read tonight at home. Thanks for your attencion :)

Some doubts to follow:

1. How to slice rails and verges into many parts so that I can place different textures?

2. How to create an external plan to apply textures - outside the banks?

Cheers and thanks in advance.

on the rails splice textures issue.. i asked a while back & maverick kindly gave me this

well, if you just generate the rails (i recon you know how to do this) you can then double click it and you'll see part 0, double click it and you seen lots of faces. If you click one and press edit >> detach >> new part. it will be separated from the rest of the rail, if you detach multiple faces to the same part you can give them the same texture (an advertisement).
This should work seamlessly.

ps do you mean external plane?? regards to a promising trackmaker

By the plane i take it you mean the external land around the outer track>???

james did a nice guide for this ... place land

[www.realgpx.com] this will create land for the immediate outer track.... i'll post a screenshot of my wip track to show what i did.... it's rough but wip usually is.. it's how the final track looks in game that matters..

To Baptiste : [www.realgpx.com]

@Gildoorf : a name for your track ? Yes : for trying it, the layout looks like a french circuit : Albi. But I think about something like "Romania/Timisoara" It does not exist, now it would do. Why not ?

Er, jimbob, you didn't steal that track layout from my beta (that will probably never become a full release) did you? It looks worryingly familiar lol
