Turn 9 is a slow downhill 90 deg curve while turn 10 is the faster part. I had another look at some track maps for schaller to check one or two corners and it seems as accurate as can be humanly possible at this stage. All the same I believe it is a good job so far.

@schaller: progress is slow with your smoothing because of the up/downhill nature of the track, but so far I have done the main straight and first two corners with bumps and some flat spots to catch the unwarey :p

Fantastic job
I've noticed that the 9-10 turns are a little to fast. Specially at the end of the turn 10, where most of the cars put left tyres in the gravel.

Anyway, very impressive job!!!!!

It is great to see such a progressioon in track editing.

Ricardo's whole site went down. He is trying to rebuild it and is attempting to get the track files from the past few seasons. Hopefully soon it will be working again...

Revised .dat is on the way schaller, with some nice bumps and some smooth areas, as well as a little import present for your graphics :)

WOOO HOOOOO!!! Thanks Tom. (Zepplin) :)
I'm off to take care of this list of improvements that I expect will take a bit of the weekend. we'll see how this goes.
Next problem though is getting the cars positioned correctly in their pitstalls.
With the Istanbul Pits, there are seperators between every 3rd team than will make the mormal distribution along an uninterupted line a problem....
I need to post this in the Track edit forum to see if there is a solution.

thanks for the help Zeppelin101. I'm off to check this smoothing :)

Salute
Schaller

I can tell you now schaller that there isn't unfortunately mate. The pit start/end flags have to be 33 sectors apart, and so the garages must be placed inside this area. I think that for a fix, you could have your columns, but not as big, so you could have, garage - column, garage - column etc. then every third one just have a larger column but still have the garages with the same spacing if you get my meaning.

If you don't just email me as I have been drinking lol

the infamous turn 8 needs a bigger run off area and i think its turn 4 needs widening (the right hander). Other than that its coming along very well.

It takes time to make a gp4 track atm.. it's an on going learning experience.any way from the screenies & the one lap avi i think this is going to be worth the wait... if a track is rushed for release it'll probadly have more holes than a korean brothel in it & people will jump on the moaning wagon....best to wait...

It will ALWAYS take time to make a .gp4 simply because of the sheer amount of objects that have to be made and put into place. Unless you steal them from elsewhere, the .gp4 takes the longest to build from scratch

You're welcome to try and make your own track if waiting isn't your thing :)
