Can you share how to make a custom helmet? I am searching and searching but can't find anything. I work with Photoshop daily, so I am only looking to understand what file to edit/how/as what to save and where.

Could you be so kind to describe the steps to make a custom helmet? I have a template downloaded, but I find no explanation as to how to preview the helmet and put it in the game?

Download the template pack by Jvinu [jvinu2000.tumblr.com]
There are other helmet shapes here: [fongugp4.blogspot.com]

Inside, you will find a PSD file that you can edit in Photoshop.
Save the file as a tga called 'driver1_1.tga' - don't forget to add an alpha layer. This controls reflections, black being no reflections, white being maximum reflections. A very dark grey would be a good place to start.

You can preview the helmet in Blender (plugin available here:[www.grandprixgames.org]), Zmodeler 1.07 or GP4Builder [www.grandprixgames.org].

To use in-game, you'll need to convert it to TEX format, using SlimTex (part Zaz Tools) [www.grandprixgames.org] or TexResizer [www.grandprixgames.org] - don't forget to flip the texture vertically.

This goes in your cars.wad, you'll need to name it driverXX_1.tex where XX is the number you want to replace. Other helmet shapes will have a second texture, usually for the top and standardised parts, which is called driverXX_2.tex.

That's the short version, but feel free to ask if you want any further guidance.
