Not a great session. Hopefully the boost will help us through the race

My GPGSL Career
The boosts really helped people here so I'm not surprised that we qualified where we did. Here's hoping some engines blow in the race.

GPGSL - Christel VXR team Boss S6-S8, S12 Onwards

Ohhh, nice one!

used to be GPGSL's Nick Heidfeld
Pretty happy with that result. Hopefully both cars can stay out of trouble in the race and bring home a good haul of points.

Pretty disappointing qualifying from me, hope to make it up in the race

I have got to stop getting my hopes up too early in the session. Still, 12th isn't the worst and if we keep things steady points are on the cards.

Oh well, great by myself, good by Michael, but the main qualifying definitely wasn't what we were hoping for. It's especially striking that mostly that driver that drove brilliantly in the past race struggles really hard in the next round ... looks like MTP's win streak is over. But let's see what the boys can do in the race to cover some points, at least.

GPGSL : Team Owner of 'Maverick Track Performance' (MTP)
Already 1 point in the bag for Tyrant Team... car feels good for the race ;-)

GPGSL-3: VTR Driver, S4~S11 (2nd, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3th, 4th, 3th, 2nd)(Constructorstitel S7 & S9)
GPGSL-4: ONE Racing Driver, S8~S11 // TYRANT Racing Driver, S12:1st, S13:13th, S14:1st, S15:13th //
WREXHAM Motorsports Racing Driver S16: ?
Nice the two cars in top 10. Looks good for the race...

-----------------------------------------------------

Happy with 6th, can do well from there and it's great to see my teammate on pole. Let's go!

Qualifying for DMR was a mixed bag. Potential though for a good race day result....
Pedal to the metal for Charrel and Rodrigo.

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
Middle of the grid again, hopefully we improve on last time out.

Joseph Gilson :: Southern Cross Racing :: Race Driver
P5 and starting on Row 3, not too shabby at all ;)
Hello and welcome all, to a sunny Road America, for today's Season 12 Rd 3 of GPGSL action

The championship front runners are spread through the field, so today's race could give us absolutely anything!

Our front row today sees Tyrant's Marcus De Bruyker on pole, and AMR's Christopher Hinz in second - with a long run to turn 1, a lot can happen!

And they are racing, with Warrington making a good leap off the line....

At turn 1, De Bruyker holds the lead, with Jalving trying to tuck in behind, and Hinz on the outside of the DMR...

In the run down the long straight to Turn 5, it is Charrel Jalving having a look down the inside of De Brukyer for the lead...

And the DMR driver takes the lead....

Heading through the Carousel for the first time, the top 4 are bunched close together....

De Bruyker takes a sneaky look at retaking that lead as they head towards The Kink....

But Jalving holds the spot as they roar along the back straight for the first time....

Jack Elleker looks to make a move on the MAC of Gianluigi Silvestre....

But it appears Elleker couldnt make that move stick, as the field nears the end of Lap 1....

Heading up the front straight hill for the completion of Lap 1....

Side by side racing for a lot of the field as they begin Lap 2.....

Connor Steer getting very adventourous, trying to go 3 wide for an overtake, which he can't complete this time around....

The field heading down the long back straight again, with Vilela leading Gilson, at the bottom end of the points positions....

Scala is taking a dive where there appears to be no room to dive....

Gentle contact, and Steer is forced wide....

And Steer is off in the gravel, no damage, and keeps his foot on the accelerator....

And there is contact as Steer re-joins the track. But who was the other car? The host broadcaster frantically head for the replays to see if they can find who the other car involved was....

Connor Steer heads to pit lane, way earlier than what he would have wanted today. This seriously impacts his race unfortunately....

The action keeps coming, with 10 cars locked in a battle as they head towards Turn 1....

And it looks like they all get to and through the corner unscathed....

Worseling in the SCR will be hoping to make some quick advances through the field....

It is a real dog fight for position deep in the midfield....

Meanwhile, it is pole sitter De Bruyker in 2nd, with Jalving ahead of him holding a comfortable lead...

Alpha driver Tobias Kederer has moved up to 3rd...

Hinz now back to 4th....

McClure in the Mistral entry, having a great run so far, sitting in 5th place....

Silvestre holds down 6th place....

Warrington in the second Tyrant, back in 7th....

Elleker in 8th, with Silva close behind in 9th, and then Scala, Vilela, Keranen and Gilson not too far behind....

Back in the pack, Rico Van Smirren looks like his ambition overtook his talent, locking up at Canada Corner, and spinning as a result.

Van Smirren spins, dropping him to 21st, with just Connor Steer now behind him....

At the front of the field, it is Jalving leading....

De Bruyker is just out of shot, as Jalving navigates Turn 6....

Looks like the Warrington v Silvestre battle is on again...

The Brit makes the move stick this time, moving up into 6th spot....

Warrington now has his sights set on McClure in 5th, as the positions 1 - 5 scroll through at the bottom of screen....

6-10th position....

11th - 15th....

Joseph Gilson is on the attack, trying to get himself into the points....

And he does it, moving past the Snake of Keranen....

Ahead though, we see a puff of smoke from the AMR of Elleker....

Jack Elleker spun under braking....

Sitting in a bad spot on track, Elleker is forced to wait for a gap in the traffic to flick spin himself, and get going again....

That will be one angry man in that AMR....

The top 3 as they head towards Canada Corner....

Positions 1 to 8, after 7 laps....

Positions 9-16 after 7 laps....

Positions 17-22....

Kederer is all over the back of the Tyrant....

Silvestre in 8th, with challengers all around him in a hot midfield battle....

From the rear of the DMR of Jalving, De Bruyker still has Kederer in very close contact....

The top 4 in one shot, as we look back from Jalving, with De Bruyker, Kederer and Hinz in the distance...

Kederer lining up for another shot at the Belgian ahead of him....

Kederer sweeps to the outside, but De Bruyker goes defensive....

The door gets slammed by Marcus....

Warrington in the other Tyrant, is launching a move on McClure as they climb the steep hill....

But McClure manages to hold position....

Going about his business almost undetected, Vilela has climbed through the field, taking himself into 9th place after 9 laps...

This will be a sight that Kederer LOVES, as both Jalving and De Bruyker pit....

Kederer inherits the lead, and a clear track ahead of him - what can he do with this fresh clean air. Undercut the top two perhaps?

De Bruyker in his pit bay....

Jalving pitting, but seems to be a long stop...

As pit stops begin, we hurriedly take our first ad break before the leaders potentially come back around the circuit, and potentially make their pit stops.... Be sure to re-join us after this short break...

Welcome back to Road America, where we pick up the action on track, and in pit lane as drivers have begun making their stops....

SCR's Nick Worseling flies up the main straight, as Jalving and De Bruyker are emerging from pit lane....

The two drivers re-enter the action with no issues....

Jalving was the first of the scheduled pit stops....

De Bruyker's pit lane transit time a fraction sloweer than Jalving, but nearly 1.4 faster in the actual pit stop....

Race leader Tobi Kederer is in the pits....

At that very moment, Hinz has smoke billowing from the rear of his AMR as he crosses the start/finish line...

It is a blown engine for the Aston Martin Racing driver...

Pre-pit stop race leader Jalving sits in 13th place, as he nears the yellow flags of Turn 1, where Hinz has stopped. But, where is Kederer after his stop...??

The answer is, Kederer is AHEAD of Jalving, up in 11th place currently! Must have been a sensational IN lap, and quick pit stop for the Alpha driver....

And there it is, Kederer ahead of Jalving after the stops... a slower stationery time for Jalving proving very costly for track position....

Effective race leader with 2nd place Jalving in the background....

De Bruyker sits 13th after his stop, effectively 3rd on the road, behind Kederer and Jalving, with all those others ahead, yet to stop....

Pit lane getting busy now, with Gilson and Pedersen in view....

O'Neill in the box...

Vilela exiting pit lane....

A lot of cars going to be in the same part of the track as pit stops are finishing up....

Gilson has Dan Mills crawling all over the back of him after the pit stops....

Mills takes that 12th spot from Gilson....

Connor Steer, after his earlier damage and pit stop, currently sits in 9th, but will have to pit again for fuel...

The leaders still yet to pit, with effective race leader Kederer holding a strong lead over his primary chaser, Jalving...

Gilson looks to be having trouble keeping cars behind him, as he goes defensive...

And here is why! Trouble for the defending series champ, with electrical gremlins giving him mixed messages on the steering wheel....

Whatever the problem is, it has forced him to pit lane for a 2nd stop. His day well and truly ruined now....

Someone who's day is going ok, John Warrington out front of the field, yet to pit....

Gianluigi Silvestre defending against Daly McClure ahead of their pit stops....

And they are both in pit lane....

Warrington re-joins, falling in just behind his Tyrant Motorsports team mate....

Vilela has momentum on his side, but also Silvestre to his right, carrying far less speed as he exits pit lane....

Vilela gets delayed at Turn 1 by the MAC driver....

But not for too long, as the DMR driver overtaks Silvestre....

Aidan Keranen having a good drive so far, in 10th after the stops...

Jake Legge in 13th, just outside the points - could a strong finish here change his mind about retirement....

Carlos Rodriguez way down the order, in what so far has been a disappointing showing for MTP....

Rico Van Smirren has had a tangle with Luke Russell in the Christel VXR....

No damage to either car, and everyone rolls on...

The final lot of pit stops underway, with Kederer re-inheriting the lead....

The genuine race leader now, Tobias Kederer....

Charrel Jalving chasing hard, but a gap of nearly 5 seconds to Kederer ahead of him...

With some raw speed, fast pit stop, and genuine race craft, Rodrigo Vilela now up to 6th after the pit stops...

Gianluigi Silvestre up to 7th....

Keranen in 8th....

Mills sitting in 9th....

Worseling in 10th...

O'Neill in 11th....

Silva in 12th....

Rodriguez in 13th...

Legge in 14th

Scala in 15th...

Pedersen 16th...

Van Smirren in 17th.....

Elleker down in 18th....

Russell in 19th...

Steer in 20th....

And the last of our runners currently, Gilson in 21st....

Action between the two Tyrant drivers up near the front! Has De Bruyjer yielded to Warrington? Team orders at Tyrant?...

Warrington now ahead of his team mate....

Replays show a strong move by Warrington....

De Bruyker defended as best he could, but lost momentum in the process....

And with that, Warrington was past his team mate....

At the same corner seconds later, Scala moves Legge out of the way, to take that position....

So, on lap 16, the standings are shown below, positions 1-8....

Positions 9-16....

And 17-22.....

After a horror day so far, some joy for Van Smirren, pulling off a pass into Turn 1....

Silvestre now hot on the heels of Vilela, attempting a move down the inside at Canada Corner...

But no joy for the MAC driver this time....

Back to the front runners, and John Warrington is on FIRE! He has caught Jalving....

Down hill towards Turn 5, the Tyrant is tucked up behind Jalving...

And the Brit goes for it, Jalving not forcing the issue too much....

Warrington pushes on ahead, on an absolute mission....

Warrington now in 2nd, with a 6.2 second gap to race leader Kederer....

Jalving now the meat in a Tyrant Motorsport sandwich....

Dan Mills having a fantastic drive today in the MMM Ferrari....

Sean O'Niell clinging on to that last points paying position for now....

Rodriguez in hot pursuit of that points paying 12th just ahead of him....

Legge has Van Smirren for company right behind him....

Kederer in the lead, with 6 laps remaining, and a gap of just under 6 seconds....

So, we take our final ad break here now, and will return for the conclusion to this race at Road America....

Good race so far for both drivers. No idea if De Bruyker would've gotten ahead of Jalving in the stop so have to wait for Part 2 to see the outcome.

*Edit*

I guess Demon were just quicker in their stop with Jalving which is why he was able to stay ahead of De Bruyker. And as for team orders, there are no team orders for now but that could change later on in the season. For now both drivers are free to race each other (just so long as they don't take each other out in the process).

Quite happy to see my two cars running, and running both in decent points positions. Just got to hang in there and bring them home intact.

**Note from me as RD this round - final part of coverage will come perhaps tonight Aussie time, or tomorrow night - got to let everyone catch up with Qual and these first 2 parts of the race. A bit to unfold in the final part of the race, so.... will let the suspense build a little. (H)

GPGSL Team Owner Debut - Melbourne, Season 8 - present
GPGSL Test Debut - Hungary, Season 4. GPGSL Race Debut - Adelaide, Season 5.
Oh boy, at least Scala is not in the points, come on Connor, it's your time to hit him from behind ;)

Hopefully I can hold it together, would be a very good result to grab this race.
Considering with how many drivers have a boost its pretty good
