About what I expected from qualifying with the lack of boost, but I'm hoping for something of a mildly chaotic race to help move up the field.

Happy to see Silva starting 3rd, great job out there.

Meanwhile I think for me it's just a bad quali. 15th, still the bad position and not where we are at the moment.
Second row, 3rd place... and John fourth row in 7th place... thank you mechanics and pitcrew.

Nice to see two cars in the top 10 - hopefully we'll have the race pace to move further forward

Good to seek Tobias and Alessandro in the top ten. If the cars perform well good points are for the taking.
Round 5 - Spanish GP - Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

It's race day at Barcelona, Spain. The fifth round of GPGSL S11 is about to start. Carlos Rodríguez is the man on pole, for a second time this season. He'll be eager to convert it to a first win for him and MPR this year. It won't be an easy feat though, with many strong competitors lining up behind him. The sun is burning down, and predictions say that definitely won't change in the upcoming 30 laps.

The cars are all lined up and ready to go

And they're on the way! Poor start for Elleker who dropped to 4th

de Bruyker has taken the lead from Rodríguez

The MPR man looks determined to get it back, but is blocked in turn 10

Bit of smoke coming up as Warrington only just avoids contact with Sanvitale

Rodríguez is back in first, having passed de Bruyker in turn 1

John Warrington has gone past Elleker, who now has to defend against Silva

Keranen is off in turn 3! Back to last place for the Flying Finn

Silva has a first look, but Elleker keeps him behind

McClure in the other Mistral tries a move on Copeman, but can't get past

de Bruyker loses 2nd place as Kederer passes him in turn 1

Both AMRs in duels, both lose them to Silva and Jalving respectively

Pedersen up to 10th after passing Chris Warrington

Copeman loses 14th to McClure, in the background we see the DMRs swapping places

Position movements after 3 laps, Kederer and Warrington up 3, Elleker down 4

Rodríguez sets the fastest lap

Hinz retakes the position he lost the previous lap

Battle between the AMRs now as Hinz tries to get past Elleker

Gilson and Cremasco going side by side in turn 10, the Brit gets the move done

Warrington takes 10th from Sanvitale

The AMR battle continues, Elleker keeps the upper hand for now

Another team intern fight, here between de Bruyker and Warrington

An optimistic move by Scala sees him bumping into Sanvitale

and sends him in a spin. He continues in 21st

Elleker with a poor line through the final corner, has to yield to both his teammate and Jalving

Warrington tries hard, but can't find a way past de Bruyker

The two Ones fighting allowes Silva to quickly close the gap

Spangenberg past Cremasco, 16th place for him

Just moments later Cremasco runs off in turn 3, slamming into the tyrewall. He escapes unhurt, but his race is over

Yellow flags out, as we see the massive train that has formed behind de Bruyker

Elleker just can't get up to speed, loses another position to Pedersen

Silva has a go at Warrington, can't get past though

Warrington past Elleker as well, the AMR driver seriously struggling

Silva with another unsuccessful attempt to pass Warrington

Slowly but steadily Rodríguez is increasing his lead over Kederer

Third time's the charm, Silva in 4th place now

Moments later Warrington locks up under braking for turn 7, and goes straight in the gravel. He can get going again, but is all the way down in 20th

Worseling with an almost non-existent gap to Spangenberg behind him

The gap got a bit smaller, nothing to worry about for Rodríguez though

Warrington closed the gap to Pedersen, and has a look in turn 10

Down the mainstraight and he gets past the MAC

Approaching the pitstop window, as we see in the timing that both Gilson and Spangenberg gained a place

Thomas got past Ancevski, still a long way to a points position though

Kederer takes the lead as Rodríguez is the first one to come in for his stop

The MPR driver gets out with noone close in front, some crucial laps up ahead for him

Silva has closed the gap to de Bruyker

Kederer comes in 2 laps after Rodríguez

This promotes de Bruyker to the temporary lead

Silva way too optimistic with this move, coming from way behind he hits de Bruyker as they go in turn 1

He spins and loses a whole bunch of positions, while de Bruyker has to go through the gravel. He maintains the lead, but lost some valuable seconds

And that's Kederer ahead of Rodríguez! Those 2 laps were enough to get him past the MPR

Rodríguez immediately tries to retake the position, but Kederer keeps the upper hand for the moment

de Bruyker, Elleker and Sanvitale the current top 3, all have yet to stop

There goes Rodríguez, a nice move to get back ahead of Kederer

Reversed situation the following lap, now Kederer is in front again

Scala has a look at Worseling, as we see Copeman coming out of the pits between the two DMR

Scala gets the move done

Elleker heading to the pits

de Bruyker also in for his stop

Jalving the big winner of the pitstops, he got up to 3rd place

Worseling gets back past Scala, as we see Silva with a new fastest lap

With all stops done, these are the current standings

That's Sanvitale facing the wrong way. A failed attempt to overtake Ancevski sent him into a spin

Gilson past de Bruyker up to 10th. The One driver really lost out big time due to the incident with Silva

Thomas and Copeman chasing Ancevski, who currently holds 12th

That's Gilson off in turn 10, throwing away the 10th place he only just gained

He keeps it out of the wall, but drops to the back end between Keranen and Sanvitale

Thomas now holds the last point spot, but he has to defend hard against Copeman

Rodríguez doesn't seem to be able to follow Kederer

de Bruyker working his way back up, passing Spangenberg for 9th in turn 1

That's Silva running in the back of Warrington!

Sending them both in a spin

Warrington shows Silva what he thinks of the move by driving straight into him as the Mistral driver tries to rejoin the track

Scala has gone past Nell, and in the timing we can also see that Copeman is ahead of Thomas now

The back end of the field, Gilson, Keranen and Spangenberg right behind each other

Sanvitale and Keranen side by side through turn 11, Keranen stays ahead

Hinz in 4th, not far behind Jalving and the final podium spot

Sanvitale hands last to Keranen

The battle for P5 between Warrington, Pedersen and Elleker

Silva again right behind Warrington

Teammate McClure didn't quite have the same pace, but he stayed out of trouble, which got him all the way up to 8th

Warrington is off in turn 10!

Silva as well! They made contact again! Silva better gives the One garage a wide berth after this race

Copeman gains another position, past Ancevski to 11th

The gap between Jalving and Hinz didn't really change these past few laps

Elleker has gone past Pedersen, and is chasing down Warrington. Seems this second set of tyres is working much better for him

Worseling has gone past Thomas, and makes on to the chase of Ancevski and the final point spot

The gap between Rodríguez and Jalving has gone down quite a bit over the last couple of laps

With 4 laps to go Elleker gets past Warrington for 5th place

Position changes within the top 10, McClure has dropped behind de Bruyker now, but still is the big winner with 9 places gained. De Bruyker on the other hand 5 down, mainly due to the incident earlier on

Copeman right behind Spangenberg

3 laps to go, and the gap between the MPR keeps on decreasing. Possible showdown in the final lap?

Copeman takes 10th from Spangenberg

Worseling goes past Ancevski and takes 12th

Silva with a clean pass for once, going past Keranen in turn 1

Warrington is being chased down by Pedersen and de Bruyker

The One driver tries to get past Pedersen, but the latter shows great driving and hangs on to 7th

Scala goes past his teammate

With Pedersen and de Bruyker battling, Warrington could build a small gap

Smoke coming out of Warrington's car, he's reporting a water leak

Kederer enters the final lap

Rodríguez a fair bit behind, but the gap to his teammate should be big enough to keep 2nd

de Bruyker with another attempt, but again Pedersen keeps the upper hand

Thomas has gone past Ancevski, as the yellow flags come out. Warrington has stopped his car in turn 5

Kederer crosses the line and takes the win

Rodríguez in 2nd, he didn't have the pace to keep up in the second half

Javling makes it a double podium for MPR, a result much needed

de Bruyker gives his best, but can't get ahead before the line

Same goes for Nell a bit further down

6th for Warrington is a fantastic result for us. Best result so far this season for the team. Shame about what happened with Cremasco. Had he not crashed out, it could've been possible for him to finish up near the points. Now to look ahead to the next round.

We really would have had a chance for solid points without Matteo's mistake. So it ended as the weekend started. At least the driver swap of Matteo and Milos worked this time without further incidents. Better luck next time, I hope.

Gawd dammit!

I appear to have John Maverick Syndrome, where my car's pace dramatically drops in a crucial moment. I also can't embed YouTube videos for amusing reactions.

Still, could be worse.

Cool, I didn't know I'm the official eponym for such a syndrome! Now I made a name with two things already! *Feels like a star*

Quick "unofficial" standings tables for those who can't wait (not so handy as official ones, yet should be correct):

Well that first stint was pretty horrific!
Luckily with some fresh rubber my pace came back and I recovered some of the lost positions, not an ideal race though

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
I think I was held up in the first couple of laps. Those overtakings surely cost quite some time so maybe a podium finish could have been possible. But anyway, decent race, I'll take 4th.
