I do not see how that can be legal, they are below 25mm.

With that front wing they were .6 quicker than mclaren and some others. If they had the old wing where would they be then? Probably still faster yes but not by that much.

Be honest gav do you think them wings are right? New tests are needed :(

One of my mates just said they are legal as they dont move more that 10mm with the current load tests.

RBR showing their eng team isnt short of ideas.

A great idea there, and well copied by Ferrari :p!

It's simply another loop hole. the same way the diffuser passes word to word regs, these do too.

Before the pictures I thought the centre symetrical section was flexing downward because the gains in downforce then would be pretty large. What's interesting is that it's the endplates flexing downward rather than the actual wing (though I guess that is too!).

how on earth do teams police the 3 week break (ban) on development work? How can mclaren tell if ferrari have got their supercomputer turned off? or is their a fia person in each factory.

thats an awful lot of trust surely for something that is not gonna be as obvious as track testing.

also this seems an awful long time ago now doesnt it. i think i said success for ms this year would be 1 win, finishing 5 th in title and beating rosberg. I dont think he is gonna do any of those.

With the shut down... you have to remember people will want the break. Teams will want the break before the 'big push'. The men will be pushed hard. They need it, and will want it im sure.

Besides. There is nothing stopping guys being able to work from home on small things. I also think internal emails are monitored. But as Brawn said, a 3 week break wont stop guys thinking about their job. They will come back and in that first meeting Monday morning they will have ideas on how to improve.

I don't see anything drastically wrong with the Red Bull and Ferrari wings to be honest. If they've passed extra careful scrutineering then to the letter they are legal. This is what is impressive about F1 engineering. The ability to re-claim lost performance / down-force from ever more restrictive regulations in double quick time. Some of them may go against the "spirit" of the regulations, but to immediately outlaw these things when they technically legal according to the written rule would only go to stifle clever engineering.

And F1 is as much about clever engineering as it is anything.

They have been very clever with it that is for sure, they pass the FIA test. Many are saying the weight test needs to be more as the cars are producing more downforce than the current test.

If I remember right this happened a few years back and when the FIA increased the weight a number of teams had to change rear wings and front wings. But we had to wait a while for the new equipment to carry out the checks.

Its clever like the f-duct.

Alonso not be blamed at all what happend...huh ?(looks like indy 2007 mclaren thing all over again but that time mclaren said clear no) article from auto motor und sport

For the people that keep saying Alonso probably would have liked to win in a different way as well last week:
- After the 'incident' at the hairpin and his "this is rudiculous" comment asked for teamorders to get ahead.
- Ferrari told him they can't do that
- Alonso tried to prove he is much faster by dropping back and getting back at Massa's tail again
- Alonso kept asking for teamorders
- Massa ignored 2 times
- Alonso kept whining
- Third time Massa moved over in an obvious way

It has not been reported anywhere else at the moment. I would like to read it in English.

If its true that does look bad for alonso who said he had no idea what was going on, there was another race like that as well where he never knew stuff :)

Now Ferrari has summoned one of the journalists who gave tough questions in the press conference - it just shows how out of touch they are with the fans and the interests of the sport.
