So, F1 returns to Canada on the back of the controversy at Turkey.

How will Vettel and Webber bounce back? Will Mclaren and their F-Duct become dominant here?

Also 5Live's commentary team this weekend sounds quite interesting, they have Patrick Head in for FP1, Gary Paffett in for FP2, Nick Heidfeld in for FP3 and for Qualifying and the race they have Paul di Resta. They will all be alongside David Croft and Maurice Hamilton

Canada's always a great race, so I'm looking forward to what it throws up this year!

This should be the best chance so far for one of the new teams to sneak in for a point or two - especially if it rains.

Whatever happens in the race, reckon vettel and webber will get out of their cars and run off together to watch Germany play Australia in the world cup straight after? Awesome night of no sleep for me

A great weekend all-round, with Le Mans before the race as well.

Yeah, the way the Ferrari has been going lately, Matt's sigpic could be re-enacted.

Can't wait for this one. An epic track which almost always produces epic races! So glad it's back.

not directly to this but

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has questioned whether Formula 1 races need to take place on Sunday afternoons, and whether they are too long. "Do we need to race at two in the afternoon when everyone is at the sea?" he said. "Could we have two races per meeting? Do races need to last so long?"

interesting point he makes i think.

ahahah damn true for me;);)his point about the starting time is interesting.I don't agree on the one about the two races.Decresing the race lenght to 300km to 250km(for example) would be good for me.

I disagree completely with his points.

Its realistically impossible to hold a race at a time when everyone is free. Hosting a race at night would be too expensive, and would also be bad for the Asian market. Bernie wouldn't allow them to host morning races because of the drop in TV ratings. Twilight races are possible, but would also mean that the races move out of primetime in Asia - which again, Bernie wouldn't want.

Making races shorter would also be a step backwards. While making them shorter could potentially limit the impact of bad races, this would only be a band-aid solution, at best. The real solution is to be found by continued work on car and track design to improve racing. Changes to the race format would only dilute the sport even further.

Will drivers use "World Cup" themed helmets, like in 2006?

In my opinion the drivers most likely to have special helmets are Button, Vettel, Massa, Barrichello and Trulli.

The ironic thing is that, when they mentioned the world cup in the Thursday press conference in Turkey, Trulli said he wasn't much of a soccer fan - and yet still jumped on the bandwagon and changed his helmet in 2006 ;)

Webber could also do it - he's already an ambassador for Australia's World Cup bid in 2018/22, so he does have some connection. The Australia/Germany match just after the race on Sunday will be fun for Red Bull to watch, I'm sure ;)
