weather predictions are the worst thing you can trust

they never get it right

as marcl said michael seemed to have a lot of problems with the car... but track didn't help.. it was complicated out there

I doubt it will happen, but I hope that Ferrari end their Marlboro contract a year early, to stop the controversy and make the sport "cleaner" from a sponsorship point of view.

I wouldn't be too critical of MS. Rosberg is only 3 places ahead of him. It was always going to be a struggle for Mercedes (which is odd given their engine, but top speed has been a big, big issue for them this season).

It was a cracking session. Hamilton looked to be delighted with his lap and he certainly nailed the last corner (both McLarens look special going through there).

Grid is set up nicely with the tyre split. I can see another physical tussle if the softs fall off like in practice, as Hamilton is going to be much slower, while the Red Bulls don't have anything like enough straight-line speed for a traditional overtake, so I can see a dive happening into the hairpin or something. The Red Bulls then have to carry the softs at the end, but then how much difference will the track rubbering in make?

For once, I hope it doesn't rain. :)

McLaren gave him enough fuel for one run, which he blew. Then the so called "miscommunication" occurred, where they basically said go for another lap which got him the pole.

He was meant to have fuel for a 2 lap run but they only filled him for 1 out lap fast lap in lap and missed the 2nd fast lap.

One of them will be the official line and one of them will be the truth. ;-)

Lewis was epic! But he owns this circuit! Button was never going to be close! But Lewis was something else! Its a similar gap to 07 with Alonso :p!

A shout out to Luizzi too!!!

Should be an awesome race!

According to F1Fanatic on Twitter, apparently Webber's had a gearbox change.

Another fast car down the Top 10 is another good sign for a great race coming up.

If Webber has dropped down this will please Alonso who will now start on the cleaner side on softs so he should get passed Vettel.

The cleaner side doesn't really matter as much as other tracks (such as Turkey or Hungary), because the racing line crosses over the grid. The inside obviously gets the benefit into Turn 1, but the outside gets a benefit into Turn 2 - so I think its fairly even

That shuffle with Buemi worked out peachy for Lewis.

What a quality race so far! You'd struggle to write a script this good.

why would buemi do that?

you've got a ferrari engine, going to pit that lap, why hold up fernando?

great race though!

Are we picking and chosing what rules are applied now? Petrov gets a penalty, McLaren doesn't for releasing Lewis into Alonso?

Yeah, lets just say I wouldn't be surprised if Torro Rosso start having "engine issues".

And how many reprimands/warnings can Lewis get...

It would be interesting to see a SC soon, and see if anyone tries to risk making it to the end.

apparently they're not watching the race, only Petrov

it was a dangerous maneuver from Sutil with Kubica... if he wanted to put Kubica in the outside line why did he moved back??

does anybody knows what problem Michael had? he was having a good race

I think Mercedes are addicted to tyre changes, they love it more than life!

The the accident at the final corner was Kubicas fault. He was pitting but defended anyway, cut back behind Sutil then cut the tyre as he slipped round.
