The studio photos of the Virgin (teehehehehe :P) were really good. The photographers obviously had a very good grasp of lighting etc. But they also had ages to get it right.
The trackside pictures, aren't so good, and there's several factors to this. It may be unofficial photographer so we don't know how good a snapper they actually are. Then you've got to take into account the light conditions, it was wet and overcast so they weren't great, plus since it's outside it's dynamic lighting. And then of course the car is actually moving in the action shots! So obviously the snapper has far fewer chances and time to get it right.
I think it unfair to make too many conclusions about the appearance of this car from the limited amount of action pictures of limited quality.
