I think the FIA have horrendously missed the point here.
Bernie has always said, "Put the onus on wins and we will see more battles for race victory," and it seems like the FIA have lapped it up as a good thing.
However, if I were to turn it around and say, "Put the onus on wins and we'll see less battles throughout the rest of the field, because it is much less important than it used to be," then suddenly it doesn't seem like a particularly clever idea.
Bonus for 1st place means:
- Battle for position 1 is more intense;
- Battle for 19 other positions is less intense.
To me, that seems like levelling a rainforest to plant a tree.

Maybe they should let everything be as it is now for a while. All those proposals and FIA commissions to propose a proposal for a probable proposition cost enough money to run a small f1 team for a year I guess.

I might just wait until I read the paper on Monday to see what drivers got what points, and what system we have.
The FIA are a complete joke. to add to what Rapid said, FIA own the actual rights to F1 dont they? SO they could start a break away series completely identical to F1, just with a different name? could be wrong, but all I know is I have had enough of the FIA.

Another example of the FIA not knowing their own rules.
Thank God. It was a stupid idea, the point is: 2008, same point system since 2003: 7 winners in a season, thats more than anyone of us imaginated before 2008 season started. And I dont think one driver do all his carreer thinking to be 2nd or 3rd. They want to win, dont they?
and then along with standarised engines makes Ferrari quit and 2 possible ends:

Max's soon, hopefully! His megalomaniac attitude must be annoying a lot of people, even within the FIA itself. The next election can't come soon enough - and it's not in anybody's best interests for him to stand again.
