Three 2009 cars were under Charlie Whiting's microscope as the FIA figure made a flying visit to the Barcelona test.

According to the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, he wanted to closely examine the new Toyota, Williams and BMW Sauber to ensure the cars are legal ahead of the season opener.

His concern about the impressive Toyota TF109 is its rear diffuser, while in the Williams pits he wanted to discuss the 30cm-high cockpit fairing fins.

Whiting's only interest in the F1.

09 BMW was the much smaller fairing fins.

Got me more excited, but at the same more unsure!!! And more that are the rest of the teams showing their hand??

It's obvious it would have been low-fuel soft tyres, but still!

It's probably towards the end of a stint, so a good indication of pace. Button or Barrichello for the win in Melbourne!!!

vesuvius, what site are you using to follow the times?

I'm using thef1.com but it's a bit rubbish.

Well Brawn did say he was shocked how slow the cars have been over the winter compaired to what they should be doing.

This is bad though

Those are some pretty good times from Button! Has to be low fuel.

Just wondering, with the in-season testing ban, does the 15000 km limit still stand?

Gotta be something dodgy going on with that Brawn...I know they've being developing the car longer than the other teams, but they've had little testing and posting lap times that far ahead of the opposition suggests either everyone else is sandbagging more than we thought or Brawn are running something illegal, to me anyway.

Yes, If not mistaken they have to remember that for the post season tests (15k less the Kms already used = amount they can use after Abu Dhabi) , resets for 2010.

It looks more like he pulled off than crashed, there is damage to the front wing only by looks of it that can be caused by the gravel.

He is also looking at the rear of the car as if something failed.

Chet I dont know, it was on autosport the other day about them parts of the Brawn car.

i don't know how he did that at turn 3...

anyway, i'm sure the Spanish crowd won't let him forget it. according to some of the websites posted above they have been making noises all day (nothing like last year though)

I was there last year...(the test after the big incident) and the booing and whistling seemed to be at McLaren in general.

I snapped Kovalainen having parked at turns 1/2... and people were jeering and booing him as well.

McLaren chairman Ron Dennis says he has no concerns about his team's apparent lack of testing pace and is certain they will be title contenders.
