Senna's race is talked about in epic proportions. But when you watch the race in full, he was out-performed by his countryman.

I am not trying to wind him up either btw I would love to be prooved wrong but what anoys me is when he slates Massa and RB and piquet is doing nothing at all.

People talk about that race so much due to the 1st lap. RB is near enough forgotten but in lap 1 I think he went from 12th to 5th or 4th something like that.

I can not find any pics but from on board car video it looked like Piquet and Alonso had different front wings, I wish I could see it again to make sure.

@marcl: So when he was running P3 did he won anything for doing it? Points? No. So, not impressive for me. I can think of many drivers that did it but never turned that into points or wins...

And the Ferrari #2 driver cutting the corner at Monaco is just a new reason to slate him even more this weekend... I could bet all my money that he'll crash or spin in race for just doing that. And the fact that he does not like to race at Monaco is another good reason. Seriously. Monaco is a great track. So he prefer tracks where he doesnt have to rely so much in his crap throttle control? What a...(censored).

The different frontwings aren't a new thing me thinks. Ferrari drivers had them different in some rounds, and McLaren has done it before with JPM and Kimi. Guess it has more to do with their driving styles than testing parts of it for both.

@gav: The first lap just showed how big was his enormous genius and talent. gav you have to accept it, he did what was expected from him and won. Where as the Honda #17 driver never did what ppl expected from him.

Gav have to agree, Barrichello stayed with the Williams for a lot of the race before he car failed

Rubens and Herbert were brilliant that day in fairly average cars :)

No, he did more than was expected. Pretty much race after race. Excepting 1995 and his Ferrari years. He was never going to a world-conquering monster - he's too nice a guy - but few expected him to be the driver he became in F1, and he should be credited for that. He's gone a bit flat in recent years, but even at his age people keep on employing him, and it's looking like that isn't going to be the case for Piquet.

Haha n00binio!

Well i saw the end of FP1 and Kimi rocked the boat there, which was great considering I was in a DT lesson where everyone was concentrating on their work that i couldn't shout out any random things. Lewis looked quick and Heikki also. I can't believe Felipe held on that slide at the last corner. Whereas for FP2 i didn't see much as I was in the library and the librarian found out i was videos and kicked me out ;). But I think its McLaren all the way this weekend as the Ferrari just doesn't corner as it does at other tracks

Really?

Well, I've lost my faith in n00bens @ Austria 2002

but my respect for him was left at Austria.

You HAD faith and respect for him before Austria then. So you did NOT classify him as garbage before Austria 2002.

This might be a bit extreme, but I have finally good proof that you always lie and always change your arguments and opinions just because you can win the current discussion. You apparently don't care at all that you change all those arguments again so you can win the next discussion. Just wanted to point this out sometime, and have now done so.

Can you now PLEASE stop trying to change each thread into a thread about how Piquet should be given time and how the R2something sucks ass (even though Alonso scores points with it)?

Senna certainly had better wins than Donnington tbh however he nearly lapped the whole field that day, that in itself was epic.

Still considering the car Rubens had to drive his performance reminded me of Senna at Monaco '84, except his car failed him. :( Ayrton and Rubens on the podium together would have been magic.

How surprising, Piquet binned it :)

Looks like McLaren and Ferrari are close for sure but I've got a sneaky feeling we're gonna have a maiden grand prix winner this weekend!

Maybe Heikki will do it, or even Kubica, but I find that a bit harder.

Did Heidfeld have any problems with his car? He finished out of the top 10 on both practice sessions.
