Thursday is Ascension Day, holiday in Monaco. The race is generally held on the weekend after Ascension Day.

More tradition than anything since Ascension Day was on May 1st this year

Plus it's glamour city. If ever there's an ideal opportunity to wine and dine with sponsors and prospective investors, then it's the Friday.

Now I am pleased to see him living up to his name. Bruno for the title! ;)

Senna is not his real name though is it, I can not remember what it was before he changed it.

Bruno is ok but again nothing special from what I have seen, tbh the last 2 years of GP2 have not been that great there are no real out standing drivers.

The one I am impressed with is Conway, no testing yet he has done bloody well just bad luck stopped him getting points and great results.

Ayrtons real name wasn't Senna either. He was called Da Silva, but used his mothers name (Senna) because half of Brazil was called Da Silva.

Yep true but Bruno says he does not want to get drives due to the name so then why change it to Senna?

I know it might be out of tribute or something but he from what I have seen is not as good as Senna.

Ok then race under that name then why does he need the name senna thats all I mean.

I do want to see him do well and must say when u see his eyes when his helmet is on it reminds me of senna, but thats about it.

*cough* Mike Poo-way? Jesus, so far he has been terrible, hasnt showed any good in GP2 yet, though he has won the british F3 undeservedly. He was running P3 until he lost it. I rate Javier Villa and Pastor Maldonado to be better than him.

Bruno is great, I can bet that he will shine in F1. Wont be as great as his uncle but will be good enough to make us proud of brazilian motor racing history. More than the two clowns at Honda and Ferrari.

The Senna name is there for marketing purposes, you cant deny that it would be ridiculous not to use it. It was Chico Serra, another brazilian racer, who suggested Ayrton to use his mothers name instead of Da Silva (father's name). Mainly because it was easier to pronounce and had a better impact on newspapers...

As far as I know in Spain the mother's name is used instead of the father's name(?). For example, Here in Brazil I would be called Bruno Castello, but in Spain they call me Bruno Marques in my spanish documents.

Just wait and you'll get your answer....he is showing his potential, but in my opinion when he'll jump in an F1 car, no dna tests would be needed as we would realise he's Ayrton's nephew...

He surely wont be as fast as Ayrton but after all, who can be fast as Ayrton??!

on topic again... this is for the monaco f1 race, not for the gp2 races... go to other motorsports for that tbh.
