Mclaren have definitely lost their form, 5th and 6th, in a place like barcelona which shows true performance.

Im supriced if Alonso drives more than 12 laps before going to pit..

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

How light we'll have to wait and see, but Piquet was a few tenths off him all weekend until qually 3, and then he's 8 tenths off. Clearly for the crowd, but that'll put a smile on his face. Probably lap 17-20 or so he'll head for the pits, but regardless, that's a stunning show.

Nice driving by Bordais too, and Piquet is starting to show he's not just waste matter.

It's hardly a massive dip in form. Hamilton did all-but the same time as Massa, and he's not light years off Kimi. Big improvement from yesterday.

Yep, Sebastien is starting to show up his highly rated youngester team mate now. Maybe the pressure has got to Vettel or maybe Bourdais is a better driver than many thought.

Well I'm thinking he'll make it to lap 20 but I doubt he'll go much further than that, outside bet is ~22. I suspect the Mclarens might be a little bit heavy but I'd have thought they would've made them a little lighter to make sure the BMW wasn't ahead of them again - which it is.

He won 3 champ car titles and those weren't exactly easy to drive so I don't think there should've been any doubt in anyone's minds about how good he is.

1. RAIKKONEN Ferrari 1m21.813s

2. ALONSO Renault 1m21.904s

3. MASSA Ferrari 1m22.058s

4. KUBICA BMW 1m22.065s

5. HAMILTON McLaren 1m22.096s

6. KOVALAINEN McLaren 1m22.231s

7. WEBBER Red Bull 1m22.429s

8. TRULLI Toyota 1m22.529s

9. HEIDFELD BMW 1m22.542s

10. PIQUET Renault 1m22.699s

10 cars seperated by under 1 second, don't think that means Mclaren is slow, more they made a bad choice in a tight field.

Yeh! Great lap by Kimi at end!

Good for Alonso, even if he is light!

well done to kimi, unless massa gets ahead on lap 1, kimi should win.
webber could get a point or two as well, but he will have to fight trulli, and heidfeld - whose hasn't been able to set a quick time at the right moment for the last few races

Well done to Fernando. He may have fuel enough for only half a lap, but it's nice to see him on the front row again.

Crap...the weekend my clock acts up, we have a good qualifying and Kimi on pole. Extremely pissed, and we don't get qualy reruns around here. From what I read though, it looks like it'll be an easy win for Kimi. Even though it doesn't look like Alonso is very light, I doubt he is the same as the Ferraris, so even if he does manage to get ahead at the start, I am sure Kimi can pass him again in the first pitstops. Great to see Kimi on pole of course...will shut up the commentators here in brazil...Massa fest is getting overboard lately.

Well done for Kubica putting the car ahead of the Maccas again. And of course, huge kudos for Alonso and Renault for putting their car in 2nd.

I will reserve judgement on how good Alonso's lap was until I see when he pits tomorrow...

Alonso was looking great before his front row lap, but I don't think there's any question of him having a car which is fuelled remotely as long as anyone around him. Still - that'll potentially make the race very interesting if he can get a good start and dictate the pace!

For ITV viewers, what the hell was going on with that Aguri Suzuki interview!? He was virtually unintelligible. Never answered a single question.

Haha, I thought that too. I think Ted realized it too :p! If he's like that in the negotiations about getting a buyer no wonder nothings been sorted yet ;)!

I loved James Allen's hypocritical comment today - "I hear that F1 on Spanish TV treats it like you're watching Alonso and 21 other idiots"

According to pat symonds, alonso might have light fuel on, and Piquet has a more conservative race strategy, and still he was 10th and did really well.

So, were renault sanbagging on last week's test???

Ouch... in my country (Argentina) Fox Sports prefered show the premier league and leave the Qualy Session... :( but the session was very dramatic... Alonso and Renault are back!
