Doesn't the fuel flap also open when the pit limiter goes on?

The last time I checked you cannot activate the pit limiter whilst above the speed. you must brake till under the speed then press the button.

yes.

and so taking that into account with Dave's point, it's definitely not the pit-limiter.

hard to tell from teh youtube video, but to me it looks like he's tried to activate teh radio and hit the N button at the same time (stupid place to put it imo)

i cant tell if he's started to slow down before hand though, and then you can see him on that video trying to talk to teh pits at reset teh car to neutral

Hasn't the whole 'Lewis pressed the wrong button' theory been debunked? Apparently was some canadian newspaper that just made it up.

That's what Ron would have you believe. I'm not saying it is true, but to me it's just more screaming of Ron trying to protect Hamilton from media scrutiny.

from what i've heard from Hamilton's own mouth, the car went into neutral itself, from what i've read that he has been quoted as saying, he pressed the neutral button then couldn't get it going again quickly.

There is no doubt he pressed neutral, its whether or not the car was in neutral before hand that's the issue.

However if it was already in neutral it'd be strange for him to press it, rather than do an up-shift, which is what he did after pressing the button.

I agree, remember that after the Hungarian qualifying Ron went as far as to try to protect Fernando by lying with him to the stewards about what happened. Ron also took the blame for what happened in China with Lewis despite the fact that both the team and Lewis screwed up.

This animation shows Lewis pressing the button...

and this image shows the N button.

Game over, Lewis & Ron. Stop lying and now assume your mistakes :)

Very hard to tell from the onboard video if he pushes the button before or after the gearbox packs in, but why would he be pushing a button at the apex of a corner if everything was hunky dory? I just don't see why he wouldn't admit to it, he's admitted to pretty much every other error. The truth will out i'm sure, looking forward to thursdays autosport anyway.

Notice the rev counter in that gif is flashing, as if it were in safety-get-you-home mode.

Edit: ffs senna, get rid of those img tags.

yeah you need one with sound and no commentary to tell when it happened. for all we know it was noticed/happened on teh way in or when he went to accelerate.

you can see him frantically trying to snatch a gear, i'd imagine he'd be hitting neutral over and over to try reset the shifting mechanism

first green "10" button holds the key to the secret. It's some sort of imput reductor it's actually 10% less something, I do not know exactly what but it aint revs no tc either, It has something tp do with diff. Maybie in combination with "rev" button it caused engine to sieze or something.

Used by the driver to scroll through the various car function menus. Also allows certain functions to be overridden if something goes wrong. The MSG OK button (black with a white cross) changes the respective menus of the +10 and +1 buttons.

Where was lewis lying? From every interview I can see he's given on the subject recently he has admitted full responsibility.

Grow up.

My initial thought was that it's result of some sort of a sensor failure and a wrong set of parameters being fed into the system but now i am not sure that it would have been possible in that case to do a reset.

So for me the question is, whether the physical examination of the car has turned up anything.

If what Lewis was doing on the wheel was a reset sequence then the chances are nothing physical happened to the car and it was a software failure, or something he did that required the car to be reset.
