Blocked Kovalainen.

The balance at Ferrari is shifting towards Massa. They're gonna have to make a decision soon who to concentrate on.

Great stuff by Hamilton. Terrifyingly slippery final lap from him, I was certain he'd stuff it into a wall. Great job by Alonso and with some luck, the Maccas can finish the job tomorrow to polish off a really nice weekend. Ferrari increasingly on the back foot.

real bad mistake by kimi. weird place to crash and the image of his car at rascas was pretty ebarrasing for ferrari after last year. only driver to crash in quali...i expect better. im starting to think kimis head isnt in a good place. there is no dout he feels uncomfortable in the team...bit of an outsider with all the massa love and family ties etc. in some words its kind of like massa is the younger son in the ferrari family and kimi is the adopted kid lol. he has so much talent but just isnt translating it on track. and supposedly isnt to great in tech briefings either.

anyway great quali, good excitement. dont get why everyone is saying lewis is likely to crash during the race, hes a very consistant driver and knows the limits. im sure he will be smoother in race than quali and the crash on thurs was great for him (think reminded him that he is human, even if he is very down to earth). his past at this track has helped him alot. but alonso should have this one relatively easy.

am actually expecting a fairly boring race (except potential crash/safety cars). i hope im wrong but could just be a procession as is normally the case. expect a one stop from kimi to try to repeat a schumi from last year. dc and fisi good show in quali but not too sure about renault race pace. still as long as stay up front should be ok.

honda...em...well they are getting better. shame aguri have dropped back and good show from williams and bmw. looking forward to turn 1 tomo guys!

Lol! Hope they have a parking permit for this year!

Tbh though, Kimi was ahead of Massa in all of the practice sessions so far, it was just unfortunate that he made a mistake at that point in the session. I'm sure he would have been ahead of Massa had he not made that mistake. Let's hope he does a Schumi and come up the field tomorrow.

haha! Thats ace. :)

And not so big suprice: Kimi making more and more mistakes and getting behind Massa. Atleast people can forget that he wud have ever been even close to MS.

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

Hey hey, that's good :D

Alonso's gonna walk it tomorrow*.

*It'll be a close finish, but due to Macca slowing the pace rather than Ally being under pressure.

It's been a really weird season so far... nothing really exciting happening, but the championship's looking pretty good at the moment.

DC/Red Bull should have had their arses kicked for that. That was very, very poor.

Considering DC's experience and his outspokenness about issues like that, he should be feeling pretty stupid as he wasted a definite opportunity to get in the top six on a track he excels at.

It was a communication error from Red Bull Management, so DC was under the impression Heikki was also on an in or out lap.

Besides, look how slow Heikkis time was after in the next lap.

DC will slice the field tomorrow, I see the big guns wiping eachother out.

Maybe Lewis and Alonso wiping eachother out.

DC and Nico on the podium ;)

lol :)

good qually session, silly mistake by Kimi, you don't expect someone of his calibre to do that. Ralf on the other hand...

Lewis was frightening to watch, sideways all over the place, i thought he was definitely gonna crash on that last lap.

Alonso did well to take it in the end.

about the DC thing, on the exit of La Rascasse he seemed to accelerate, then brake heavily (not normal), then accelerate again, like he was in 2 minds about whether he was supposed to let Heikki through or not. i think it was just miscommunication from his team, Ted in the pits said he was gesturing to his team when he got out of the car, so it looks like it was their fault, DC isn't that kind of bloke.

He wasn't that far off getting into the top 10, and he had lost the edge off of the soft tyres - same reason Hamilton never bothered going for a 2nd lap after he'd posted 1 time in the final pole shootout. It's all good saying this and that, but it shouldn't have come down to it - fact is DC blocked him (obviously inadvertently), and it's a damn shame, as I like DC, I like the team and it would have been awesome to see him racing around for some decent points tomorrow. :(

Oh cool...would you able to see my future?;)

Yeah there something very fishy about DC he braked hard and went out of the way to let him through and then what happened next was very fishy.

Kimi sauntered off in a strop after his accident so he would not have apologised to the engineers, would not have seen Massa's data to pore over, would not have been there for the talks about race strategy, etc. for tomorrow... so Kimi isn't looking good for tomorrow. He just expects Ferrari to hand him a perfect, fast car. When he doesn't get it tomorrow (because he won't have helped set it up or anything), then I can see him getting agitated and putting it in a different wall.

i was saying in the captions thread, that if you saw the GP2 race today they you'll have seen one guy (Maldonado i think) doing what MS did last year, but managing to not park the car and was able to drive away. they should show MS that video clip to see how to recover from that situation.
