'Rubens Is better than Webber'

Jenson Button says Rubens Barrichello would be a better teammate than Williams' Mark Webber. So continues the English driver's campaign to wiggle out of his 2006 contract and stay at Honda co-owned BAR next year.
If he does stay, Barrichello - a six season Ferrari veteran - would be his teammate. If Sir Frank Williams wins in hauling the 25-year-old to Grove, he'll team up next to Australia's Webber. "In my opinion, Rubens would be the one able to have a bigger input on the development of the team," Button told formula1.com. "And in general it is always preferable to have two drivers that have the ability to win. I would find it very annoying to have a teammate who is one second slower than myself."

While I agree that Rubino is heads and shoulders above Webber, who is Button kidding? "It is always preferable to have two drivers that have the ability to win." What has Button won lately? If Jens doesn't park his mouth he will be a complete pariah in F1. Who would hire him as a driver knowing could potentially try to worm out of a contract, and who would want him as a teammate knowing how he shoots his mouth off?

I think Button should retire early and apply for a full time commentating job with ITV...as he seems to be becoming awfully good at what he does best - commentating about other drivers ;)

I wonder how many races Jenson has to fail to win before BAR realise he's crap. Of course they did let Villeneuve fail to win for 5 years, although he didn't have as good a car.

Thing is. he isn't crap. I would understand if he was. On the other hand, JV is crap.

How Is webber Crap

Fair enough he has not had a stellar year but Neither has JB i think they are both good young drivers and given the chance they will both win races and maybey championships

Calling webber a waste of space is a joke

Agreed, Jenson is a very good driver, however he does let himself down with stupid comments and it does'nt help that ITV-F1 have put him on a pedastool he has'nt yet warrented in my my opinion.

As for the BAR comment, i would agree with you if they had yet to provide him with the car thats got the pace to win, but they have'nt yet.

At BAR's best they were second to a mighty Ferarri that consistenly finished in 1st place.

Button did a sterling job to come 2nd in quite a lot of races last year.

You dont get many teams fighting over the services of poor drivers

Button is letting his well and truly over inflated ego dig himself some nice old holes. Its like he thinks "HE" is F1, and F1 will revolve around him. Um, last time i checked, Jenson Button had failed to win anythng, let alone really do anything of great accomplishment.
Shut the hell up Jenson. Let your driving do the talking - and if that had been doing the talking since you arrived on the scene, well.... you havent got too much to talk about. He sounds as if he is making noise, just so nobody forgets about him......

a Pole position in Imola 2004 on merit, 3rd in the 2004 championship, fantastic race at Hockenheim with a helmet strap that was choking him on.

ring any bells?

The BAR has been disapointing this year behind the Renaults & Mclarens and even Ferrari, what do you expect him to do in a relatively poor car by those standards?

I don't think he is, though. Yeah, the silly bugger has made a few bad choices recently but he doesn't talk himself up or anything. After his stint in the commentary box in Monaco, everybody was saying how good he was and that he wasn't as bad as they thought.

Might I suggest that you don't listen to the British press or ITV-F1.

As LS said, he did a great job in 2004 behind the mighty Ferraris. He might not of won any races but that doesn't mean he's no good. Hakkinen didn't win any races for God knows how long. Was he crap? No, he wasn't.

Please, lets not make excuses for Button. How long has he been on the scene now? What has he won? He's a middle of the pack driver at best, even with a top notch car. Oh, he has a flash of brilliance now and again, but so does half the grid.

Webber and Button as teammates... I shudder to think of the vacumn created there by their lack of skills and motivation.... Poor Frank, if he gets stuck with those two on his squad he will need a miracle to get Williams back near the top half of the grid.....

Tell me when he has been in car capable of winning a race? in 2004 the Ferrari was the class of the field.

The BAR simply was'nt fast enough, how come Kimi did'nt win a race in 2004? because the car wasn't upto the job and was slower than ferarri

BAR has been a joke since their inception 2004 was there best year and button drove a blinder

kimi won at spa didnt he?
button had the second best car last year so where was he when schumi failed?

the press twist things and button should know that by now - he didnt mention webber - but even so button (and webbeR) are overhyped and not all that good.

You cannot use the excuse that he hasn't won anything!

As Echo1 has said, It took Mika Hakkinen 7 years and 99 Grands Prix before he won a race, and Jenson hasn't even been in F1 that long yet.

I'm not saying Button could be as good as Hakkinen because I don't believe he is, but everyone going around saying, "Jenson hasn't won anything so he must be crap" should get some perspective. Jean Alesi, anyone?
