Day 1: Rosberg Electrical Failure *Car on Fire*
Day 2: Hamilton Crash in Turn 6

Looks great so far for Mercedes ;), *lol*

The Real Story of the Race was that the Renault's fell apart and the Ferrari's didn't.
Rosberg headed for the sliproad and retired, probably because of Nicotin starvation they have still not given him a helmet with a little hole in it.

I'm wondering if Lewis's decision to sign a 3-year deal with that team was a wise one. The way things are going I can see Merc either selling the team or pulling the plug on it before the end of 2015.

I bet he has heaps of clauses should something like that happen, though. Where he would end up is another matter though.

Mercedes run their F1 outfit seemingly how you play Roller Coaster Tycoon for the first time ever, when you get so excited and end up buying everything and anything.

Then it all goes wrong.

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it

+1 Totally agree can't see board room full of moribund share holders putting up with it for much longer than that ..... and the embarrassment ... damn they're an embarrassing team!!

To give finger-guy what suits best for him?

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

I don't mind the purple TBH. It's been a while since it was on an F1 car at all, nevermind a top one. Even if the change to the livery is kinda random.

Im more shocked that Merc have just updated the car from last year.

Lewis has already said it does not even have the levels of down force he had at mclaren last year!

They really dont have a clue what they are doing there.

Yeah, it looks like they've done the equivalent of putting an Elastoplast on a chainsaw injury.
Maybe they're putting all their hopes on next year with the regulation changes and hoping to do another Brawn, but that would be risky too - look at BMW in 2008-2009.

dont forget that merc.'s problems last year were related mainly to the DOUBLE DRS. had they fixed it, they have a very good shot at a good performance. Look at renault and their transformation from 2011 to 2012. their car was actually pretty decent in 2011 (considerring that even petrov drove it to a podium). a few tweaks here and there may just do the job for them.

Mercedes in 2011 reminded me of Honda in 2006 (at the start!).

Mercedes, at the start were pretty competitive, I think the drivers again didn't get the most out of the car. The season then dipped mainly due a lack of understanding of the tyres, and aerodynamics. Basically what happened in 2006. Only difference is, in 2006 they fixed the issues.

Have they fixed them now? car looks better than it ever has IMO, since 2009.

With Lewis in that car I think 2013 is going to be interesting. He is going to be causing some issues to the big guys with possibly better cars!

Dammit, for half a second I thought that was a real photo! You should have heard what I said... but then again, maybe not if you want to protect your innocence ;)

Makes the Williams in my sig look like a right porker.

I don't know. Does it get to a point where some body work is better than what is just essentially a big open space?

I think for the past 3 years we've said the same thing about the Williams and how anorexic it looks at the rear, but they've had one solitary podium in that time. The average finishing position (ignoring retirements) for the past 3 seasons is twelfth.

All that said, there's something slightly menacing about this one. Seems like there's plenty of positive words from around the paddock too.

If it is a strong car, they've got a great driver to exploit it in Maldonado. I'd love to see him in a genuinely top car too. It'd be a massively exciting situation.

Maldonado and great. Kind of shocked to see those two words in the same sentence.
