Great to see this post circulating again. I still stand by everything I wrote in the OP, but the truth is I only use the Bellini patch very rarely these days. Well no, actually that's not true. I ALWAYS use it for EVERY PF but I leave it set to the default 16384 and only change it if I come across a track that just can't be calibrated accurately 'the proper way', ie with tby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Still no responses Michael? Ok then, here's one of the answers you were looking for: This excerpt from one of my PFs demonstrates how to create car specific (rather than team specific) R power, Q power and failure rates. I've included two teams just to make it clear but you can work out the rest. Name=Lotus,Cosworth First Driver=1,Ronnie Peterson,16251,389,16281,190 Second Driby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Try this: In game: OPTIONS > GRAPHICS > ADVANCED > on the left, set to MANUAL, HIGH, HIGH, HIGH and HIGHEST. (If your pit crews disappear, change HIGHEST to HIGH) If that doesn't fix the white cars, open f1graphics.cfg (in game folder) and check the first line. It should read: 1 ; f1graphics.cfg controls all settings (default 0)by Noog - Grand Prix 4

Sounds like an excellent idea klausfeldmann. A friend and I were discussing 'dirty air' the other day (ie how it's more obvious in some mods than others), but we never made the connection to the so-called slipstream effect. I've a feeling you're absolutely right though; so thanks for the insight. I'm now wondering if desc=45 or 46 (drag and player downforce) orby Noog - Grand Prix 4
The data lives in the track.DAT. However, to edit it, you need to change it into a text format. So here's what you do: 1. Get cmagic4.exe 2. Drop cmagic4.exe into the folder where your circuit DATs are (either /gp4/ or gp4/circuits probably). 3. Double click cmagic4.exe 4. Browse to the track dat in the GP4 Track file area 5. Then, from the Cmagic4 menu, select "createby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Then you need to do what turbolover said. Set the spin recovery range to 4 for each track. Default is about 64 and it's always too high. 4 is plenty. Just above spin recovery range in the MD file you'll see 'cc error chance' too. That defaults to about 80 on most tracks, but you can take that down to zero if you want.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Well in that case, you could try this one.. I assumed you'd already be using it, because I think it's a more recent release, which is why I suggested the other one last time.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
You're welcome. Just a thought: are you using the 1993 mod from TomMKs site? If not, I'd recommend it.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Hmm... Are you sure the cars are actually crashing, i.e. not just running out of fuel, or breaking down from some other problem? And this problem is happening all tracks, right? It's a very strange thing and I'm running out of ideas. What happens if you try to use the GP4.exe file from another mod? (The game might crash, so use the GP4.exe from a mod with similar teams,by Noog - Grand Prix 4

OK. Thanks. Looks like the performance file might be to blame. I'm not sure, but it looks very suspicious (and illogical) to me: Replace the values marked in bold to something more sensible: Name=Sauber,Ilmor Performance=680,760,4500 First Driver=29,Karl Wendlinger,14590,700,15400,1000,AT Second Driver=30,J.J. Seems to me 2gb of free storage would be a great way to help backup/preserve (and find) all the small things we all need (apps/tweaks and maybe PF files and MD files etc). As for the mods, we are still quite well served by Tom's site and Mediafire, but I was wondering about archive.org too? They seem to have a lot of space we could use. I don't use telegram myself, but stashing ouby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Your problem seems very strange to me, (I would have gone with what Turbo Lover recommended), but: Surely, the question you need to be asking is why are so many cars leaving the track? Does it happen at every track in 93 or just one/some of them? If it's all of them, are you using one performance file for all the races, or do you have a different one for each race? It's very easy to miss those little errors in the names. I can't see your pics, but I find that some RF mirror glasses convert easily while others don't (as you say, they are kind of frosty and the reflections are messed up) - and when they don't work I tend to import a basic GP4 set (ie square or circular, depending on what I need), that I keep in my 'parts bin'by Noog - Grand Prix 4

While I appreciate the need to move forward (as others have mentioned I too am exasperated by the faulty search and embedding, the mailbox size and the dodgy scaling etc) but I have to say I'm becoming pretty horrified the more I read on the Discourse site. I could be wrong, but as far as I know there isn't a way to just unpack the cuh/cmu using a 'standard' compression program; you have to let CSM do it. So what I do is install the mod using CSM and run it once (making sure to disable Auto-Restore), then I copy the whole GP4 folder into a zip, EXCEPT the GPSaves/Carsets folder, which I copy into another zip. The GP4 folder containby Noog - Grand Prix 4

You aren't getting any answers because you are asking many questions at the same time and answering all of them would be several hours work - and it would lead to more questions; leading to more work. GP4 is a complex game with a huge learning curve! That's all fine, but you'd get more responses if you tackled things by asking questions one at a time. But with that said, hereby Noog - Grand Prix 4
