Sleeping? But you still have work to do! Just kidding. I think you've earned it. The field looks great. Feel free to send whatever you would like me to update. I'm busy on another project until Sunday, but the pitstops will be revised in a couple of hours once you send me the track dats. (I'm assuming you will want them set up for 100% races. If not, let me know what raceby Noog - Grand Prix 4
"man man man... i am pleasure man, not spreadsheets man. i am visual but not mathematical person." I understand. Let me see: that's one performance file, 17 loading screens, 22 driver pics, a car livery and a cockpit livery all in one day - and you've only been looking at the game for a week! By any standard (and especially mine), that is pretty impressive. So, just to give you something else to consider, are you using the latest GPxPatch 4.52? If you are, you might like to know that youby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Ah you beat me to it. OK, for the McLaren cockpit view, take a look at the cp_mclaren.tex file. It's a slightly odd thing, but the cockpit view texs are not painted on to the car models and they are always a stand alone tex file like that one. (The actual model for the cockpit is usually called cockpit.gp4 - it is not part of the car model as such)by Noog - Grand Prix 4
"Car and track graphics can be more of a technical challenge..." I did try to warn you. No problem. White cars are a VERY common issue and there are several reasons why they can appear, but fortunately, it's a fairly easy thing to fix, most of the time. Basically, a white car means the game has looked for a graphic (a tex file) to fit onto the car model and it either can'by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Wow. . And in only a few hours too. When you said you were a PS expert you weren't kidding were you? You have a really awesome style too. So what do you want to look at next? If you have Slimtex, you might like to investigate the cars.wad file (where you'll find helmets and car skins etc) or the track.wad file for one of the circuits you are using (where you'll find the traby Noog - Grand Prix 4
A nice idea and lovely images. With such talent as yours, I'm sure you will be wanting to get to the other images as soon as possible, so here's something to get you started: Driver images, as seen in Team Editor and the game driver selection screen are stored in /MenuData/PC/GP2001/Images/ They are in gpi format. To view and convert them to a format you can edit, you can useby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Maybe you're the one with the problem. I offered a considered perspective on part of the discussion in this thread. If you feel it's misguided you are free to counter, or ignore it as you wish: but spare me your petty posturing.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
I like the big and bold approach you bring to your circuits. Nice work. FWIW: I've read a post on the forum which talks about the misplaced objects problem you are facing and how it was fixed, but I've no idea where it was, sorry.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
I'm not a lawyer, nor am I offering legal advice or counsel, but since your works are original creations, surely you could put a short copyright statement as a text file; maybe in the track.wad itself. The thief might detect the trap it and delete it, but it would allow you to approach ebay etc and show proof of claim (and you could hide a simple [(c) 2021xxxx Author name] in some of theby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Hi Jordhy. Normally, performance files can be found in the GP4/gpxgata folder or the GP4/gpxdata/performance folder, but if the mod was installed with CSM they might be the GP4/GPSaves/Carsets folder instead. If you can't find them, try searching for this text string in the GP4 folder ( and include subfolders): ** gp3edit - performance file ** That should help you to find whereby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Put a section like this at the bottom of the performance file being used for a given track/season: Team #00=6 Team #01=6 Team #02=7 Team #03=6 Team #04=6 Team #05=7 Team #06=7 Team #07=7 Team #08=6 Team #09=6 Team #10=6by Noog - Grand Prix 4
1. Have you re-downloaded the 2014 mod though? Your version could be corrupted and still appear to work. 2. Have you re-installed the mod using TomMKs installation as a base? (That's usually the most stable starting point).by Noog - Grand Prix 4
The log is pointing to the Red Bull car (barge board or tyres by the looks of it). To eliminate the car as the problem, you could edit the cars.wad (make a backup) - and replace the Red Bull lods with renamed lods from one of the other cars. Chances are though, if you're using the 2014 mod, it would be quicker to re-download and re-install it, as other people don't seem to have theby Noog - Grand Prix 4
The log suggests it's a problem with the Red Bull car, rather than the track.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
If you're hearing the music the game is probably working. By default there's a short logo vid that plays first. (You can kill the video by pressing Esc). Try that. It might just be the video not working (which probably means you don't have binkw32.dll in the GP4 folder). Whatever, if pressing Esc moves you on to the game menu, in GPxPatch (GPxPatch), you can prevent this videby Noog - Grand Prix 4
The specification of the new computer. Your f1graphics.cfg might have worked well with your old machine, but there could be a setting in there that the new machine doesn't like. Take a look at it - the first line: 1 ; f1graphics.cfg controls all settings (default 0) If yours says 1, you could turn it off by changing it to 0, which means ignore this file. Does it? Which post? That's where it is on the one machine where I do have it installed - works OK for me and I just ran the installer again to check and it even defaults to Program Files. EDIT: Oh yeah, it does say that doesn't it? Oh well. Like I said, works for me.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
I don't really use CSM so I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure it should be installed in the Program Files folder, not the game folder. I'd uninstall it and put it in the right place if I were you.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Are you installing CSM into the recommended folder? Also, just a thought - do you have plenty of disc space on the drive where GP4 is installed?by Noog - Grand Prix 4

Fair enough. In that case, as Mortal said before, try installing another mod. That way you'll know if the problem is arising from the mod or your system. EDIT: Just noticed you said you had tried other mods in the post further up. So, this might sound like a stupid Q, but have you EVER installed a mod on this machine?by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Are you absolutely sure it's freezing ChaseBuck? Open the Windows Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC or WIN+X) and keep an eye on CSM's CPU usage in there while you install the mod. Some mods can take a quite while to decompress and load, but CSM's screen feedback doesn't always reflect what's going on so it's easy to become impatient too quickly and try to close itby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Hi Mike, Busy all day (and your request requires a detailed response), but for now, try Team Editor 3.5. You might find it quicker and easier to do what you want with that.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Oh OK. I don't use CSM so I'm not very familiar with how it does things, but I'm pretty sure it keeps a lot of its 'stuff' in the GPSaves folder. Have you done a search for generic.txt (or failing that, have you tried doing a content search for one of the driver names in the mod)? That might turn it up, but be careful with a content search, as the driver names will apby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Easiest way once you have a mod loaded is to restart the game and look at the GPxPatch > GpxSet tab. In there you see an option called Performance file. If it's selected (it will be), the filename linked is where the names are set, so if you find that file in your GP4 folder (it's usually in the /GP4/gpxdata folder or /GP4/gpxdata/Performance), simply edit that file, save it, and theby Noog - Grand Prix 4
