thanks for the info guys. Gav, it won't start up at all anymore, not even for a short time. the charging LED doesn't come on either when plugged in, it's completely bricked. so it might not be an overheating or dislodged heatsink issue. so you advise firstly i should contact Dabs.com, and if i get no joy from them then go to Lenovo? i don't mind paying a reasonable amounby Muks_C - Off-Topic
hi all, on january 12th i took delivery of a laptop from Dabs.com. it's a Lenovo Thinkpad E520. it's charging port is on the right hand side, near the back. about 4 weeks ago i had it on my bed charging, resting on the padded case i store it in when not in use. i wanted to pick it up and sit on the bed then use it on my lap, but instead of picking up the laptop itself, then sitting dby Muks_C - Off-Topic

that happened in India for the F1 didn't it? i remember Martin saying he had no windows and wasn't anywhere near the track and that it must change for next year or he'd be annoyed.by Muks_C - F1

Rowan Atkinson is also good friends with Adrian Newey, which is how he might have originally got connected with McLaren while Newey was there. i like when i watch a race with live timing, if i spot something before Brundle spots it and comments on it, like someone closing a gap on the driver ahead. or if i explain to a friend i'm watching the race with a strategy decision, and then literaby Muks_C - F1
yeah as i thought. a pointless model. i hate showcars as they serve no purpose, unless they actually issue it as a winter test model or something like that.by Muks_C - Off-Topic
those kind of things were all disabled a couple of years ago when they encypted all channels in a different way. i haven't heard of a new type of thing like that being available since then.by Muks_C - F1
would that be a '96 car with '97 paintjob? "showcars" are usually the previous year's car with new livery, but are launch cars the actual correct car for that season, just an early version?by Muks_C - Off-Topic

so on Virgin Media you get Sky Sports 1-4 plus F1 for £22.50 per month. anyone know how much it is to have it in HD? as much as i don't want to pay for it at all, i can't bear to imagine what it would be like not watching the whole thing live like i have done since 1994. i wish they could have made some sort of deal where you could buy F1 HD alone, for maybe £10 per month, without alby Muks_C - F1

did the ebay listing not explicitly state what manufacturer it was from? and that F310/2 (2nd half of 1996 ferrari high-nose) is so ugly it's beautiful, i have it in 1:43. some great models and pics guys! i would like to get my hands on a Schumacer '95 Benetton, i thought it was a great looking car. some other wish list cars of mine would be 1:18 versions of the Jordan 197, F3by Muks_C - Off-Topic

i've not bought anything new for a long time, can't even remember what it was (will need to look back at previous pages of this thread). i did buy myself a new slim xbox for my 30th birthday though i would love to continue buying models but i haven't even properly displayed my existing ones yet, and the price has insanely increased over the past coupe of years, and there are toby Muks_C - Off-Topic
Hi All, it's on sale from the 26th, but can be pre-ordered now. Zavvi have the Blu-Ray for £14.95, HMV for £14.99, and surprisingly, Play.com are charging £17.49, they're usually the cheapest. I've ordered the Blu-Ray from HMV. a review of the Blu-Ray:by Muks_C - F1
i've been a subscriber for 10 years this November, coincidentally. Are you sure your mate is still at that price Dan? My subscription increases every couple of years, cheaper than the cover price, but generally reflecting any increase the cover price has. It's £4.70 at the moment, I think I pay about £3.80. @ Gav, re DRS behind lapped cars, yes any car can use it behind any car it's within 1 second of, it happened a lot in Turkey. i noticed something else in Turkey too, where a car (i think Webber) was catching someone and would have been within1 second anyway, but overtook him into the corner where the DRS detection line was, but then on the exit of the corner, despite Webber now being infrontby Muks_C - F1
there was a 1 hour prog right before this one called 60 Years of Formula 1 or something, that showed the event held in Bahrain 2010 where all the living World Champs got together and drove their cars, and they all spoke about their heroes from when they were young and who they admired. both shows were very good. here's part 2 and 3 can't find part 1. edit: found pby Muks_C - F1
there's this set on ebay, bit pricey though: I have always bought mine from TorontoMotorsports, but they only have them in 1:43 for the '94 Williams. Application is easy, just acetone (or nail varnish remover) the white paint markings off the car carefully with a cottonbud (may only be necessary on the sidepods), and then using a scalpel or craft knife, cut the decals so they&by Muks_C - Off-Topic
great to have F1 back! i bought a house last April and moved in last July, and it took me till just a couple of weeks ago to save up enough money to buy a proper TV, so i bought a 47" fullLED LG with built-in freeviewHD (was using a 19" CRT, with just an xbox to play and watch DVDs on since moving, didn't bother with a freeview box so i could avoid paying the tv licence). anyone seen the adverts for the 1:8 scale (60cm long ) 2008 McLaren part-works model? it looks flippin awesome, but at £7.99 per issue, and 85 issues, it would cost you £670.15 (issue 1 is only £1.99, issue 2 is £4.99): click on the McLaren Detail tab for more pics of it. a couple of years ago while talking to friends who also love F1, I said they should do something like this, an f1 caby Muks_C - Off-Topic

all i'll say is that going to uni isn't necessarily the best route you can take with your life. I went to uni, did a course that thousands and thousands of people across the country did, and have had no luck in finding a job in that field since graduating in 2004, and have had to work for the past 3 years in another industry, albeit using some of the basic transferable skills learnt onby Muks_C - Off-Topic
