I'm finding it fun. :)
The only problem I'm having with is the stupid penalty system even on reduced, I run wide at the exit of a corner and it says I'm cutting it, so it takes multiple attempts to do 1 timed lap
and at Bahrain, Chandhok hit me from behind on the 1st lap and I got a 10s penalty, I didn't even know why I got it without checking the replay at the end of the race.

About the AI timing thing, I just did a 30% race at Melbourne, I was running 11th just ahead of Sutil and behind Kubica, Sutil pitted quite early on lap 5 or 6/17 and
when I exited the pits (13/17) i was right behind him, passed him and then caught and passed Kubica (who pitted around the same time as Sutil).
I don't think Hamilton pit though because it never said he did and he led the whole race :/

Some good things I've noticed are the crowd level increases over the race weekend, the adjustable wing thing actually works, there is a noticeable difference between the
dry tyre types (at Aus i caught Kubica because he was on old hard tyres and I was on new softs) and there is time taken out of the sessions to change engines and repair stuff.

BTW I've never had a puncture (damage and tyre sim are on) and have never experienced the pit bug, but that might be because I change the race strategy.
lol at people already modding it when CM said it would be unmoddable :D

I think texture modding was always going to be possible - it even was back in the Race Driver days, but I think it will take much longer (if it is possible at all) for shape modifications or new tracks.

sorry but get this:

Barcelona. Lap 5. I am 22nd, Bruno is 21st. My time: 1.33.403. Bruno's time: 1.32.452. Gap: ~6.0 seconds.
Barcelona. Lap 6. I am 22nd, Bruno is 21st. My time: 1.30.353. Bruno's time: 1.40.345. Gap: ~20.0 seconds.

The AI is simply BROKEN. The game is UNPLAYABLE. I want my MONEY back.

I had that on turn 9/10 i think it is. Highly annoyed me as I hooked up all the corners before that near perfectly.

After racing around 30 laps (practice/qualy/race) of the new bahrain circuit I actually quite like it now.

The korean tracks seems alright on the few online races ive had of it.

A patch has been confirmed :)

Hi everyone.

We can confirm that we intend to create and release a patch for F1 2010.

It will take some time, and sometimes there will even be no news while work is going on, but we'll do our best to keep you as updated as we can. We do appreciate your patience - and your feedback to date.

Current Status:
The development team is currently investigating, going through feedback, and looking at reported issues.

That's good news.

This game definitely has good potential, so hopefully this patch fixes the major errors.

Still haven't done anything other than time trials and online, the offline races feel too staged if everything is true, and don't want to find out the hard way.

Hopefully they can remove the rubber banding, as i'm not too fussed about the qualifying sham, you still need to put in a good lap time, doesn't matter if the a.i cars are fake or not to me.

But in races, if its artificial, then i wont ever bother with it.

It's a shame as the driving model and feeling of the car is really good.

What TV are you using? Maybe that is my problem? I am running it on 1080 via HDMI

Also my PS3 was the 1st model out could this make a difference?

been away since friday so only really got to play around with F1 2010 today, really disapointed with the poor textures and resolution on my PS3, and then the laggyness of it when in race, its like playing on a PS2

I was expecting it to look good on the PC with the higher res settings, but not expecting it look this bad on a PS3, and im using HDMI connection too!

looks like i'll just to have to use it for hot lapping and private session online racing with my mate who has it on PS3 too.

I don't have a HDTV, and I just bought the 160GB Slim console last week, so it could be a combination of that actually.

Hm.. news of a patch. Will wait for the patch to arrive (LOL it reminds me of when I bought GP4. It was straight after the patch and it had that CD included in that sleeve. Ah those were the days) and then MAYBE set about buying it on PC (from eBay or something) if not then just wait until next year and get it on PS3.

ok, so i've been doing the time trials on the different circuits tonight after being on it for most of this afternoon and its still not smooth with only my car on the track.

If this is how its supposed to be ( framerate not smooth) with just me in T-Cam mode then its a poor effort and shouldnt have been put out on the PS3.

I get better fps on F1 CE06, even in 1020p the graphics are jaggedy.

Looks like im gonna have to spend £500 on a video card and cpu to get it on PC so i can play it.

Feel like £37 wasted to be honest

Texture Editor.. GREAT! (Y)

How can we also update them on 360? :-o

EDIT: By the way, Anthony had a really nice steering wheel
(Sim Chair) on that video, (4:21).
Anyone know what it is and 4 what console/PC?
