F1 06 looks far better than F1 09, however let's hope it's just because it's very WIP.

Edit: On the PSP.

1 year more to develop/modify the engine, frankly, it's always better to not create much expectation so don't get a deception eventually but sincerely, if after all that time to work by graduated professionals paid to do that in a team made of 350 ppl (they said this wa the initial number [!])with acess to the circuits, and direct contact with the teams yet they do not deliver some reasonable quality product I think it's an implicit message that we should stick to the moddable games.

About the photos:

Pre - AA graphics. I hate this with true passion.

Well, we should understand this is Wii (personally, I do not comprehend why Nintendo made this console limited like that but it's not like there'll be any improvements as in the AA here at least so we better conform if anything) and PSP (at least it's comprehensive...) but this level can only enter in screenshot contests of some Jaggies or gp3 that is game of a decade ago pratically, and personally I'd say Gp3 would still own even being that old.

Bumping it a bit. Any updates or news on this game? Any new screens or videos?

I've seen worse looking games on the Wii, but will reserve judgement until we see some footage of the PS3 or 360 versions.

Really?

Even for Wii that looks pretty poor!

Really? Looks better than most Wii games. It just hidden behind cartoon bright coloured graphics like Mario is.

Its prob just me then. Everything just looks wrong, too shiney and boxy. Horrible!

The pitstop timer starts before the car has even stopped!!

I know its meant to be arcadey for the Wii but not great first impressions.

That's worse looking than ps2. It seems most developers really cannot be arsed with the wii and put out substandard crap about it making people think that it cannot have good looking graphics.

This is a LAUNCH, GAMECUBE title, and the fact that many gamecube titles look better than wii titles despite the wii being quite a bit more powerful just shows the crap that has been released for it. Half the time, this is down to crappy ps2 ports (ps2 was the worst console of last generation in terms of technical ability / performance). It just seems that developers can't be bothered to create anything good enough for the wii to bother to actually learn about it and how to do so - they just see it as a quick cash in for all the hype it has created, without actually having to bother making anything decent in the process. It's quite sad really. There are some exceptions mind.

If you want to see what the wii can do, look at nintendo's own titles like mario sunshine or metroid prime 3.

I have F1 2002 for the Gamecube and it looks much better than this Wii game. My PS2 F1 game, Grand Prix Challenge (not F1C) looks on par with the Wii as well! :o

I never did understand why F1C was renamed for the consoles over here....

Mr. Knott is correct for once. But in all honesty, that looks on par with some of the more well done PS1 games ffs. It reeks of F1 2000. Everything has an awkward color cast over it- looks like trash.

Anyone notice that the front wing MAGICALLY appeared?

The Flanker is gone. :(

The front wing magically appeared and BMW was the only team to have a pitcrew, apparently ;).

F1C had the same name here, F1 Challenge 99-02 on PC and F1 Career Challenge 99-02 on PS2 due to the career mode. Grand Prix Challenge is made by Melbourne House or something.

They changed the name for F1C, and left out the Career on the PC. That's what I was saying. It was just F1 Career challenge on the PS2.

That looks terrible. The on board shot of the Renault looks like it was pulled from a ps1... or a 300mhz pc playing gp4.

Aren't the Wii and PSP versions made by a different team to the others? So really, what does it matter? You can't really expect a sim for those platforms.

I think I'll reserve my judgement for the other platforms next year - after all, they're the real flagship platforms, and the fact they're spending more time on those should say something. I wouldn't worry about footage from a version of the game that tbh you'd expect to be dumbed down anyway.

Thing is that they'll get away with putting out a substandard game because the Wii is such a cashcow for them, Codemasters are actually being quite smart in making the Wii game first before the major consoles.
