A couple of critiques Dave, the cockpit models and textures are looking good and I think a couple more desaturated grunge overlays just to add a little variation to the diffuse would help improve the realism. Variation could also be added to the spec maps which looks quite good.

Also there is a bit of uv stretching on the foam headrest insert as it moves around the edge which needs to be fixed.

Apart from that its looking really good.

Something interesting came up which meant it'd be in our interests to finish the 98 season of CART Factor. It still won't be popular, since everyones racing Meganes, but that isn't the point in the project anymore.

You gotta be kidding Dave.

The prologue was a massive success!! If this mod is released to most people it will be the best thing to come out for rfactor. At the very very least it will be amungst the best! I love CTDP 06 but what I love more is the CART Prologue and thats just a handful of cars!!! The popularity of this mod is gonna be massive !

If you guys have been posting shots like you have here about the net then people will demand for this mod you can be sure of that !!!

As far as feel only two mods have come close imo. Prologue and Epsilon. The full version of the CART would be a gift to us all!

Chet, what Dave meant was that it doesn't matter how awesome some mods for rFactor may be, the servers only have players in the Meganes, other mods may have servers but don't have people. To me CARTFactor is also a top 3 mod but you just can't find people online, they don't like the challenge.

Yup Gui. I know CART Factor is awesome. Well, as awesome as rFactor mods can get. But you guys are in the
minority. Most of the community prefers easier stuff. HistorX as already been dropped by the mass users despite being awesome. CART Factor will do the same. But it's being finished for different reasons now.

We still need a helmet painter though. Too much work, not enough time for me.

I can't see how you guys even get the textures ingame. Mine never work.

I quit my helmet painting career a while ago, the last helmet I made was Alex Waters' helmet for a mod that died (but the helmet was finished!). Have you seen other IRL or Champ Car mods from iDT? Some of them still had the unconverted F1C helmet files, it was disgusting

The conversion from F1C uses the old helmet yeah. The "newer" iDT stuff (CCWS06/07) uses Nicks helmet shape. Which is why the helmets are awesome. But iDT forgot to remove the HANS clip/shading from it.

Well I'd like to take credit for the performance, but that goes to Nick (Six Degrees). He did the models and gave me the optimum DXT settings. My works mostly the textures. Most of the cars, helmets and driver suits are mine.
