I heard that ther is a nasty speed bug, that makes the cars too fast

Apparently the ISI physics suffer the same problem as the Papyrus physics - on an Athlon64-based processor, with Cool 'n' Quiet enabled, the game can, and usually does, run too fast or too slow. Not just slightly fast or slow, but double the speed the fast or slow.

Easy enough for fix (disable the feature in the BIOS).

I assume this is the bug you mean?

Its going to be a whole new game.

GTP and 1965 GPL are supposed to be a whole new games, the basic bugs are still there tho ;) Gavs example of Cool N Quiet is one of them....

GTR rocks people!!! Not only are you NOT restricted to having full grids, but you can race with classes. As in, if you want a grid of 20 Lotus Elises, or Ferrari 360s, you can! But, truth be told, with one Lotus in the game, 20 duplicates would be kinda dull.

HOWEVER PEOPLE!!!!

Car skinner dream come true. You can create AS many new teams as you want, (obviously making sure that their number, which the game recognises, is unique) but failing that, want to race with Ferrari 360s, and want to re-create the 360 Challenge season, then bish bash, and it can be done. New tracks can be added too. Just creating new folders and away you go. I'm currently trying to work on new tyres for teams, but trust me, if you like making up cars, and want to create your own miniture season you can really easily do it.

I think GTR is fantastic, and for the moment, GP4 has taken a back seat.

I think its well worth it, it hasnt quite got the same feel of papy's efforts and GTP (tyre model I suspect) but other than that the physics are the best yet in a sim and the immersion factor while in the cockpit in unsurpassed. The tracks are also superb and graphically its pretty good. It's not perfect but i'll support anyone who tries to make a genuine sim and does a decent job with my cash, and I think everyone else should, if GTR is a financial success it'll give simbin the chance to make a truly great sim with their next effort using a better engine.

Get it. If you get the chance, go online and to a Spa Dawn event. Now that was class.

yeah of course :)
The codes not as good as papy's apparently but its still very usable, and I think simbin are working on better dedicated server support at the moment.
