well i thought i'd kick this off with a quailty topic seeing as vader thouhgt my last to posts were spam :P


anyway.. does anyone know why the hell simbin pushed back the release date for GTR!? i looked a few days ago it said january 31 now it says feb 25 :|

and has anyone tried out the spa 24 hour patch!? any good?

Maybe shops like Amazon and such were merely guessing release dates, rather than actually having concrete information from Atari? I dont remember Simbin releasing a Jan 31st date :S

Cause it dawned on them Redline GTP is better and its free

GTR provides the whole racing experience, GTP provides the whole driving experience.

yeah but they can't just guess they must have some info.. i wen't too three different stores and they said the same thing..

Chances are it didn't fit very well into Atari's publishing scedule, or have decided to release in some other countries aswell.

GTR is just one fr**king blast !
The cars feel real, ever car gives you his own personal feeling and the 24hour of Spa is very very very nice !!... and with the new (unofficial) addon for 24h of Le Mans, it is gonna be superrrr :D

there gonna be a le mans addon ... cool.. got links to it or somethin?

how are they creating the prototypes, out of interest (you may remember my r8 attempt)

How does that work though? Simbin had the data from the gps and mapped the bumpiness of the track surface for GTR






I would have thought without that amount of data to draw upon the driving model is going to be lacking somewhat

ESSENTIAL OILS aren't essential unless you're an engine, a gearbox or a twat

beleive it or not people can produce great stuff without exact data! infact, they may even have it, who knows?

The german version is out, and has been for awhile. I have it. The english version is due soon

The reason i asked was based upon what i had read over at RTacesim Central, one of the guys was talking about custom made new tracks and because they were'nt done by simbin and had no surface data included the guy said it was like driving on glass compared with the normal driving model that comes with GTR

And he is corrent. Much of the improvement from GTR is from the tracks and the bumps they have modeled. Infact, the GTR physics have changed very little when it comes to cars, its the tracks the major changes. When you drive GTR on converted tracks this becomes blatently obvious because it is extremely easy to drive compared to the origionals

Just the one question - why did you blank out those 2 letters, of a word I can only assume was 'freaking'?

@LS: it's true - addon tracks just don't have the feel that the originals do - whether that changes in the future we'll see, but as things stand they don't stand out for the right reasons - at least we've got them though :D
