BBC News 24 is saying that he is in a coma, but one of the screencaps they were showing to 'confirm' this has now updated to say he is dead. Their other 'source' (LA Times) says he is in a coma.

/Edit: the LA Times is now also saying he has died.

As a slight aside, this kinda shows that even the best 'instant' news outlets can be flummoxed when it comes to breaking news.

In fact, BBC have just decided it is serious enough to warrant a newsflash. I guess they believe their sources.

If true, RIP Michael. Whatever way you look at his life, it's clear that he devoted the majority of it to making others happy.
