It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

Thank you to Glyn, Gav and Graham for an "enlightening" session at Kyalami. I truly realised just how fast they are, and how slow the BRM really is... 1:23.22 after more than 60 laps, combined practice and race. And Gav made things interesting by driving the other way round the course!

Mind you, I did my best to T-bone him down the straight when he joined the race after lap 1. Then he missed me as I came round Turn 5 driving forwards, whilst he was driving the other way, i.e straight at me. He tried the same trick at Turn 3! Poor bastard couldn't aim his car at me even if I had a target on the bodywork! Though I coulda sworn he'd stopped....

I had stopped. The engine had popped. :D

Was a fun session and I knocked down a few of my lower PBs on the track. Annoyingly enough the Cooper wasn't really one of them, the car I'll be driving in the race proper tomorrow.

TBH, I was just having a laugh in the race, as Neil and I had already seen enough. With none of us intending to race, our decision was based on your praccy performance, which seemed fine.

Welcome to the mad-house. :)

Oi whores. Or rather, Vader Trophy Racing drivers.

Figured this didn't need a new thread, but along with several other teams (Team Shark, R2P, RLD and R4R) you are now part of a mod.

84 - Rich
85 - Gav
86 - Glyn
87 - Jan

Drivers were Rich's choice, so bitch at him :P

They look awesome Dave! Properly awesome.

I have to say I'm bitterly disappointed with Rich though. In no way was he a part of the inception of Vader Trophy Racing and to have him choose number 84 as his own smarts me. I believe it was Neil who came up with the numbers, and as such, he should be dedicated the primary number. Or something.

Well actually I'm just trying to land Rich in the sh!t :P He said the top 4 drivers in terms of speed and thats the order I put them in :P It's a 2 second job to move them about. I can't really remember how VTR was formed but IIRC i had something to do with it :P The logo on the cars with the skewed red "racing" and the underline was done by me originally :P

I also feel bad that Esben isn't included because he isn't in the Renown 4 Racing liveries either :P And Jan is signed up as a GMR team member on Race2Play too.

Car tries to keep as close to the original design as possible, but I had to change the black and white stripes to a thinner style because of the natural shape of the 906.

you and Glyn entered the bullrun in 2004, and i painted the FordGT you raced, under the name VTR. i think a few of you raced at le mans for various teams? then i think me, you, gav and koop enetered the Ring enduro on new years 2005, again as VTR, and various people enjoyed teh endurance racing so we entered WOSEC or whatever and the rest is history!

85 is my favorite number but the 86 colors are pretty sweet :D

So, how will helmets be done? Do each have their own design or will it hover around a VT general design with varying colors?

That was pretty much it. The 84 we raced came about simply because we needed a number, nothing had any real relevance so I chose 84 as that's what I raced under myself. It did make me giggle though seeing Gav's name next to the bright yellow 85 - there's been many forum posts about the brightness of the cars I like to submit, with Gav once calling the yellow mobile "looks like radioactive dog s**t" ;)

Would be really cool to see the VTR liveries in a mod though!

To be fair the yellow looks better in this, given that it actually has reflections probably. I love the look of the VTR cars generally though. Subtle but distinctive. :)

Gui, there will be no helmets. With 200-400 cars, like hell am I painting helmets.

The Yellow also looks better because the "martini stripes" are thinner because of the body shape of the 906.

Understandable ;). I guess plain, solid colors like black, red and dark blue should go well then, that being my opinion

iirc we raced with the helmets being the color of the car anyway.
