i ordered my Alonso Brazil R25 from GPL, arrived in less than a week, no problems.

i'm sure the errors and setbacks are only the minority.

about the price increase, the Macca's are a couple of quid more expensive cos of the effort required to make the chrome. at least they're bothering to do it though, unlike Mattel, who just painted their MP4-21's grey.

and ignore the price increase anyway, just get the models off ebay.

but i may leave it and just get the mp4/22 when released - hopefully they do it faster becuase the shape is near enough the same and the livery is similar too

3 new MS models will be released in 2007.

the first is a Monza F248 model, race aged and with a driver figure in victory pose like when he stood on the Monza podium. £99.99

second is the Chinese GP F248, with the car just entering the pitbox to represent the strategic victory that it was, again race-aged. £74.99

the third is the Brazil GP F248 race-aged car, with separate MS driver figure, and also a 1:8 scale helmet made exactly like the one he wore, with all the victories written on it. £129.99

got this info in an email from GrandPrix Legends today.

so maybe if you haven't got an F248 yet, you might want to hang on for one of these new ones. i like the sound of all of them, but wil probably just get 1, or might get the "statistics" model instead if i find a good deal on it.

yeah i saw Toronto Motorsports had added those 3 models to their online inventory about a week ago as well. Sounds pretty good.

The Monza and Brazil one sound pretty tempting to me, I might just get one of those instead of the career statistics one. As it also says in the description here that both (Monza and Brazil) models come with a special base mentioning his career highlights.

anyone seen the adverts for the fortnightly Bond cars collection? i bought the 1st issue today (just £2.99, regular price £7.99) and it's quite nice. of course they started with the most popular Bond car, the DB5.

the car feels heavy and looks quality-made, which is why i guess they've had to make them £7.99 for the rest of the issues. there was a rally cars collection not long ago, but i had a look at the first model (Impreza) and it looked shockingly bad quality, but they were only about £4, so what can you expect?

nothing moves on the model though, it just has one of the tyres spike things sticking out of the left-rear wheel, no opening doors, ejector seat, or spinning number plate, it's just static apart from the wheels turning i guess, haven't opened it from it's bubble. you can throw away the bubble and just stack the display cases like we do with Minichamps 1:43 cars, or you can keep it in its bubble if you want.

it has a driver figure inside too, with his left hand on the wheel and right arm leant on the window in a casual pose, and the graphics on the diorama portray Bond being chased.

the website for this if you're interested: [www.jamesbondcars.co.uk]

the only Bond car i have is the 1:18 Vanquish from Die Another Day, with all the working gadgets, so i might continue with this collection, or might just get the ones with the cars i like, although it would be nice to complete the whole collection. £7.99 every 2 weeks ain't so bad.

i'm guessing the DBS from Casino Royale will be last.

it's very big mate, but i don't have everything on display as i used to. now i just have about 7 1:18 F1 cars and a few roadcars on display, the rest (1:43's) are all packed away in 2 boxes. when i get my own house, i want a nice big display cabinet in a "models room" to display them all in.

but i don't just keep buying, i have sold many on ebay when i got bored with them, although i do buy more than i sell.

bought a 1:43 Red Bull RB1 Liuzzi model the other day, waiting for it to arrive from Germany :)

yeah, but it has a realistic movie scene base!!!111

that's why i'm pondering continuing the whole collection, or just getting the cars i actually like. in one sense, that is better so you save money, but on the other, if you're gonna get a few, might as well complete the collection, in for a penny, in for a pound.

of course they're gonna put the crappier "filler" cars in between the good cars in the hope that people subscribe.

Minichamps seems to be re-releasing a lot of updated MS models from his Benetton days - [www.tomotorsports.com]

"This model will be different than previous releases from Minichamps. No driver figure, different packaging, changed livery, markings and new production technology."

Due in Q4 2007
