I really don't understand why people would have several of the same season's cars just with some track specific thingies different, like three mclaren mp4-22's (Hamilton's First, Second or Third Victory Edition)...

They dont make different models with track specific 'things' except when they make extra models for that year for example hamiltons 1st win which will have the extra wing over the nose. Otherwise they would just be 1 version of the car made. :)

i don't understand what you're concerned about. when the money leaves your account, you'll know the model is on its way to you and you'll have it in a few days. it's not like they'll take your money 6 months before they send the model, or that they'll take your money and never send you the model.

do you have a credit card? if you do, you should use that to pay for things like this, because they will only charge it when they have the model in stock and it's ready to be sent to you, and you still have a whole month to find the money to put into your bank account to pay the credit card bill (pay it before you get charged interest, obviously)

if the model was available in a local shop, you'd go in and buy it, yes? i don't see how buying from GPL is any different, they're only going to take the money when they have a model to send to you. sure you don't know when that will be, but you just have to make sure you have at least £60 in your account to make sure your account doesn't go overdrawn (unless you have an overdraft).

why miss out on the opportunity to own a much sought after model which will no doubt rise in value, just because you don't know when you'll get it?

then you complain about people like me who buy 5 models to sell on ebay... well you've got your chance to buy one at the original low price so you don't have to pay silly money on ebay, and you're backing out of it.

and forget Hamilton for a minute, what's happened to the Button 1st Win models? it shouldn't take Minichamps this long to get that into shops.

and I got the monthly email from GPL today, basically it says nothing new, they don't know when the models will arrive in the UK, so they can't say when we'll get them. they say the cost of raw materials has risen in China, plus many workers are leaving the industry for better paid, easier jobs, so model prices are bound to go higher in the future, and will take longer to be manufactured. great.

I no longer regularly have £60 in my account that I can afford to go to a 28 centimeter piece or die cast and rubber, I'm unemployed and have bills.

These 2 are on the way to me, the upper one is the Bentley from 2002 le mans made by autoart in 1:18, and the down one is the Jaguar Le Mans from 1988 with whole blue livery made by Exoto in 1:18

anyone interested in buying anything from GPL should do it today before midnight, because they have an offer for 1 day only, where they'll give you a 15% discount on any items they have in stock.

all you do is choose your items, add them to your basket, then enter the code "feb29" into the promotion code box underneath your item list. it'll then show you the original price, the discount, and the new price.

i've just bought these 2 items: Click and Click.

the print is now only £21.24, the model is now £63.74, so with £7.99 postage it's £93.

(the print was originally £24.99 a couple of years ago, then as soon as he announced his retirement, it went up to £99, and now it's back to its original price)

I considered all those special retirement models (Monza, Shanghai, Brazil, Anatomy of a Champion) but came to my senses and only bought 1 model. plus it's only available from GPL, the others can be found on ebay and might be even cheaper than GPL even with their discount.

of them all, i liked the Anatomy of a Champ model with it's half carbon-fibre finish and leaping driver figure and engine:

cheers for that Muks, I ordered some 1:43 models yesterday, I was after getting the Hamilton McLaren so I ordered that and I just got Kovalainen's renault and the Williams of Wurz.

I recently bought a Megane scale model and sprayed it up in the style of my rFactor team :

I used stickers from CD label paper instead of waterslide ones though so they look a bit less professional. Came out better than expected though! (still a few little bits to finish)

@ Enjoi, wow that Megane looks superb! you've got a lot of skill in doing things like that, the furthest i go is applying decals, i can't paint at all.

Iceman-Kimi, great looking models!
