According to GPL mattel will charge £79.99 for their version of Hamiltons first win. Minichamps is nicely at £54.99. Will anyone buy the mattel version? lol ;)

yeah i could do some detailing work on the interior if i can be bothered.

and LOL at Mattel, £80 for Lewis' 1st Win model when the Minichamps is over £20 cheaper?! LLLOOOOLLLLL

anyone got a McLaren Merc SLR model? i love the car and would like to buy a 1:43 model, ideally black. which is the better manufacturer of it, Minichamps or AutoArt? i've seen them both on ebay but not sure which to go for, they look very similar.

have a look at this SLR, it's got the chrome effect like the MP4-21/22: [cgi.ebay.co.uk]

and going back to those 1:43 Williams models for £2 each, i emailed Atlas Editions asking if they were going to sell any more models, and if they were, would they all be Williams cars or different teams' cars.

I got a reply today and it had a list attached (the two in bold are already advertised/sold):

1992 Williams FW 14B
1990 Mclaren MP4
1978 Lotus 78-Ford
1976 Tyrrell P34 6 w
1968 Lotus-type 49
1978 Brabham BT 46
1957 Vanwall VW57
1971 March 711
1954 Mercedes W196
1967 Brabham BT 24
1965 Lotus type 33
1970 Lotus.72C-Ford
1981 Brabham BT49C
1996 Williams FW18
1976 McLaren FordM23
1997 Williams FW19
1986 McLaren MP4/2C
1971 Tyrrell 003
1990 Tyrrell 019
1969 McLaren M7C
1983 Tyrrell 012,
1982 Williams FW08
1962 BRM P57
1978 Tyrrell 008
1980 Williams FWO7
1979 Martini Lotus79
1961 Cooper T53
1955 Lancia D50
1959 Cooper T51
1972 Lotus 72D-Ford
1963 Lotus-Climax 25

i forgot to ask if they'd all be £2 each. maybe they sold the first 2 for £2 as a taster, then the rest of the collection might be more expensive. i'll reply to the email and ask.

it would be nice if they made a Monaco Special model, instead of just the standard '07 Alonso race car, i'd buy that.

Hi, I'm quite new to models. As I'm searching for my first one, I found 2.
[cgi.ebay.com]
[cgi.ebay.com]

Quality looks really good, the question is - is the price reasonable?

Lol, we have joker on the forun? :P

In that case you are serious, atleast I wouldnt pay so much for 1/43 (or even 1/18) scale cars even if those are custom builded or anything. Atleast McLaren looks great, but color of Mikas helmet seems to be too dark and frontwing isnt so well glued. About that Ferrari I wud ask for clear pictures before putting much money for it.

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

I just wanted to know is that reasonable price for that kind of built. Already thought that it's too much for a model, just wanted to know is there possible really such a prices for one model.

I got an email from GPL today about the delay with the Minichamps 1:18 Hamilton model. it says that they have the Mattel versions in stock now, so if i want to change my mind and order the Mattel one instead i should just ring them up or send them an email, as they expect the Minichamps ones to be in the country in the 2nd week of December, but if there is even a slight delay during transport, arrival will be pushed back to January. so if i need a 1:18 McLaren by Christmas i can change my order.

no thanks!

i'm buying the models for myself, but even if i needed them for Christmas presents, i'd just tell whoever i was giving the model to that he'll just have to wait a little while longer, the wait will obviously be worth it!

who cares about saving £5, if you're willing to spend £45, then £50 is only a tiny bit extra, and the difference in quality is huge so an extra £5 is definitely worth it, IMO. they (GPL) are trying to play down the difference in quality between the two manufacturers, saying that only real model enthusiasts will notice.

well, i'd consider myself a real enthusiast so i'll wait till January, thank you very much! i don't want to save £5 and buy a vastly inferior product that i won't be happy with.

bloody hell, it gets worse and worse!

on another note, i received my £2 FW14B today, and it's pretty rubbish, but ok for £2. (the torch is ok)

BUT, here's the catch. it's a subscription collection, and guess how much eachof the following issues will be. £13.95, PLUS £2.25.

what a ridiculous price!

i;m definitely not subscribing, i can buy most older 1:43 Minichamps models for less than that, and these are no way near Minichamps quality. if it were around £4 for the model and info booklet, it's be reasonable, but at £16 is just stupid.

so the £2 Williams model(s) were just introductory offers.

you do get 3 special free gifts though, a World's best F1 cars dvd (which is around 10 years old), a £7 voucher which you use to get a McLaren for only £7 instead of nearly £14, and a really crappy "sports watch".

no thanks.
