GPGSL S7 [SEASON COMPLETED!!!] Rule Changes Announced For S8.

Posted by GPGSL
The car was fantastic today. Shame that I had problems during the qualifying. Without them, a position under the first 12 were possible. :-)

First podium: S8 Australian GP - 3rd at Testers sprint race
Hell to the motherf%^%* YEAHHHH !!!! This shows you guys! give me a competetive car and i'll blow you all away :D.

At the last 6 laps comforted by the gap between me and Mal we have decided to tune back the Lancia engine a bit and cruise the victory to home.

Very happy, thanks to Dan Paddock, Martini and the complete Martini Paddock Racing team. It was fun !

GPGSL Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Yas Marina

Qualifying

Ruben Greidanus his the first out to set a time.

Jack Elleker is nearly two tenths faster in the first sector.

Four tenths up in the second.

He takes pole by over 6 tenths of a second at the finish line.

Owen Edwards swaps his TNR for a TSS and is slightly up on Elleker's time at intermediate 1.

Still slightly up after the second sector.

Only just takes 1st by the end.

Let's see what Norbert Horváth makes of Ed Greenhalgh's championship winning car. He's slightly ahead.

Still ahead.

Looses a bit of time at the end of the lap, but takes the pole position.

Tommi Karjalainen in the sister car is slightly slower.

Karjalainen only 4th.

Gary Spencer in the unfancied Scala GP.

Nearly a second down on pole, Spencer is the slowest so far.

Cartwright relishing a drive in a TNR is ever so slightly ahead at the first check.

Unfortunately he's slipped back a bit.

But wow!, takes pole with a storming last section.

Andrei Sevastian has traded his test MPR for a race one. He's faster so far.

And still ahead.

Cracking lap by the Tibetan. Pole position!

Here's the top 8.

Jake Legge is next up.

Disappointment as he is slowest so far.

Hunsley in the MPR.

Takes 2nd to make it an all MPR front row.

John Warrington hoping to make an impression in the Christel as he is still without a drive for season 8.

Solid performance to take 4th.

Ben Johnson somehow manages to hang on to his season 7 seat for this non-championship race.

Finishes the lap in 10th place.

Michael Pedersen in the SCR.

Slowest by over a second.

So here's the fastest driver in the slowest car, let's see what Ed Greenhalgh can do with the yellow peril.

Not a lot it seems! Only two cars slower.

Joshua Copeman is another driver to swap his normal test car for a race version.

Only 9th out of 15, he's has got to be gutted.

Brazil's Rodrigo Vilela is next in the MAC.

He is not going to be a happy bunny with that 12th place.

Here's the standings after 16 cars.

Next to try his hand is Charrel Jalving in a Minardi.

Takes a frustrating 12th position.

Glen Sheppard in his last outing before he takes the plunge as a team owner.

13th out of 18 is not what he was hoping for or expecting.

Testing champ Tobias Kederer in the Snake.

Another one in 13th.

Kittleson in the sister Snake.

Finishes two places down on his fellow Snake driver.

John Maverick going back to his old stamping ground with ART.

A surprising 12th for what should be a good partnership of driver and car.

Last and not least we have Adam Davies in the Christel.

14th for Davies.

Here's the final placings.

5 x WCC - S5, S6, S7, S8, S10 | 4 x WDC - S5 Nick van der Voort ; S6, S7, S8 Ed Greenhalgh | 2 x WTC - S6 Stuart Ingers; S8 Andrei Sevastian
Well that went well.

Congrats to Rico on the win, was great working together. Pity that Gareth lost a load of positions, but he fought his way back up to the points, which is what we like to see.

Very pleased with qualifying too. Good to see Andrei and Jack in the car. Must say I'm very impressed with Jack's first outing with the team.

I would have hoped for a bit better, of course, going back to my ART routes. But the new cars behaves a lot differently from the car I drove in my ART season ;)
Honestly, it was fun to return to ART for this and I'm confident that I'll be able to grab some positions in the race.

Nice idea with this non-championship race (I hope, we'll return to the track in Season 8), good fun to drive for another team...
13th place :/ I expected a better qualifying.. Feels good to be back in the Minardi though! Lets hope we can make up some places in the race..

A promising performance for the two "guest" Christel drivers. Hopefully John can nick a win in the main race.
