GPGSL S7 [SEASON COMPLETED!!!] Rule Changes Announced For S8.

Posted by GPGSL
I'm really excited about the non-Championship race. It'll be interesting to see how the race pans out with everyone in different cars. I'm also honored to have been mentioned ias one of the favourites for the testers championship next year. Its definitely part of the plan to be in contention :)
Spencer and Copeman seen at Snake Motorsports hospitality area!

Shortly after the qualifying session for the support race, Christel VXR chief Chris Copeman and Season 8 rookie Gary Spencer were seen heading through the paddock into the Snake Motorsports motorhome. Both re-emerged some time later, smiling from ear to ear, before meeting the Christel PR officer in front of their home base and heading inside, talking excitedly.

18th? Not really good...

Hmm interesting... That's what security meant when they said they had seen two dodgy guys hanging around near my motorhome ;)

As for qualifying, once against pretty bad, 19th is just not good enough...

GPGSL-4: testdrivers champion in Season 11!
Guys, my apologies for the delayed release of the Q&A.

In all honesty I've been pretty overwhelmed by the responses that I received. Having now finally collated everyone's answers (Well all the answers I'm expecting to receive) I have about 13,000 words from you lot. A really fantastic effort from everyone involved in the GPGSL.

Now Jake and I are just discussing how to publish this mass of text.

My plan is to release the Q&A in three segments, firstly a fairly short section containing all the responses that I had from our lovely Team Bosses, all but one who answered :)

Second would be everything from the Race Drivers, now this would be a pretty big segment, as I actually received responses from 17 of the 20 drivers I questioned.

Finally, we would publish the responses of the Test Drivers. The Q&A was successful here too, with 9 responses out of the 12 questioned.

So what does everyone think on this format? It would be presented quite simply, nothing too flashy.

Think of a simple Q&A in F1Racing, something like that, but without moody pictures of me or the people I'm questioning ;)

Wow I got an award?! I'm really quite chuffed ;)

However admittedly I'm not as chuffed with my pace in practice, but the support race quali results does at least give me some hope :)

Snake Motorsports

With great pleasure we can announce the signing of Gary Spencer as driver for Snake Motorsports over the course of the eight championship of the Grand Prix Games Superleague! Gary will be driving alongside Connor Steer, just like last season now they'll both be in the racing seat though! Gary will still be tied with Christel though and so this deal can be considered a season long loan and collaboration between Christel VXR and Snake Motorsports.

Both parties, Chris Copeman & Maikel de Boer, have reached an agreement over Gary for season 8. Maikel de Boer states to be very happy to be able to welcome Gary aboard and is looking forward for a strong season with both Connor and Gary alongside Mal as the continuum factor for the team in the testing seat.

We are looking strong and ready to go!

Signed,

Maikel de Boer, Snake Motorsports CEO

Copeman; Spencer move benficial for all parties

Speaking shortly after the announcement of Gary Spencers move to Snake for season 8 of the GPGSL, Christel VXR team boss Chris Copeman was in an upbeat mood. Copeman said how pleased he was to have been able to arrange a deal of this nature. "This move for Gary is perfect for not only him, but for Snake and Christel VXR as well. Gary gets a race seat, a chance to boost his perf and we get to (semi) hold on to on of the brightest talents on the grid. I have to say that Maikel was brilliant during negotiations and that was one of the reasons that I was happy for the deal to go through."

Copeman went on to confirm that Christel VXR now have two test driver spots available for season 8 and that the deal for Spencer allows the team to "keep their options open for the future". Copeman finished off by saying that "In Jack Elleker and Michael Pedersen I believe we have two-potential future world champions. With Gary going to gain experience at Snake we have a bright future ahead at Christel VXR"

All kicking off in the off season isn't it!
Demon Racing press release :

The brand new GPGSL team for Season 8, Demon Racing are announcing that following this non championship race, our full driver lineup will be commencing pre-season fitness training.
Our drivers, including the team boss, will be sent on a triathlon of sorts, with a bike ride towards Dubai, to the Palm Jumeira for a swim, then a jog to Dubai International Airport where the teams luxury corporate jet awaitsess for the season opener. Accomodation in Me. From there, it will be to the Swiss Alps for some altitude training........

Demon CEO, and slightly overweight test driver Sheppard said, " we at Demon need to ensure our drivers are fit, and not carrying unwanted extra weight. Our cars are going to be the slowest on the grid, we are fully aware of that. If our drivers as a collective group do their part to minimise what weight they bring, all the better!!"
