GPG Nations Cup S2: Finished! S3: Annoucements/Signup pg 52! (4 SPACES LEFT)

Posted by GPG_Nations_Cup
I've now done a few test runs, no CTDs, but a lot cars crashing out (about 7-8 per race). The cc-line would need some improvement imo, especially at turns 10-12.

Good to see you staying on for s3, Nathan :)

Is there any way to reduce the ai errors kedy? If not then i will try and solve so that it can be run.

I'll edit the md and do some quick simulations to see if it helps.

EDIT: Ok, Ai errors down to 20, way better now. I've simulated 5 races, 3 cars now crashing on average, also depending on how much it rains. But it would still be good to have an improved cc-line, the cars are driving zigzagways through turns 7-9 and 10-12.

EDIT2: Is there something wrong in the perf file? I thought we had quali and race range to 1000 for everyone? Now everyone except San Marino has 500.

saving my points for the last 4 races :P

Same here. As the season was a disaster anyway, Team Switzerland wants to finish it properly, at least. And for this we'll need all the points we can get.

Hmm oops, not trying to sabotage san marino in any way ;). The variance in the perf file was 1000, but races have had variances ranging anything from 0 to 1000. I thought somewhen me and Ben agreed to try 500, but that could just be my memory playing up completely ;). For consistency i will put it back at 1000. I think i will be doing some summer testing to try and find an optimum variance anyway.

Glad to here you've got it working kedy, yeh i believe the cc-line does have a few problems which we will need to look at if we want the track back on the calender. Once again cheers for running the round :)

I remember that you were talking about it in the thread, but I thought it was planned for next season.

Quali has been run and will be up soon, and the cc-line definitely needs to be improved, it kinda hurts in the eyes to see how the cars drive in some corners ;)

Round 14 - Oulton Park - Qualifying

Welcome everybody to the qualifying today here at Oulton Park. Rain is falling down at the moment, so I'm pretty sure that the drivers won't hesitate with going on the track, especially as the predictions say that the conditions will get worse. While I'm talking Edvardsen has already left the pits to go out for his first run, so lets look how he will do.

Unsurprisingly he sets the fastest time and takes the provisional pole

Kederer crosses the line right behind him, but his time is much slower

Jantsher is the next, but he too is far away from Edvardsen's time

Girard takes second, but the gap is over 1 second

But he don't has it for long as Silvestre snatches it

Tafuro also not able to go Edvardsen's pace, 5th place for him at the moment

Championship leader Aspenstrom with the slowest time so far

Not for long though, Copeman is over 2 seconds behind the pole time

de Boer now the first to get close to Edvardsen's time, this brings him 2nd place

Another driver how's struggling in the conditions, Byrne over 3 seconds back

Good lap by Nikolov, this brings him 4th place

Vukcevic takes 8th

11th place for Marinescu, but his laptime wasn't that fast

Season 1 champion Maverick takes ninth

Johnson jumps in the top ten

Many drivers struggling in this conditions, Antunis is one of them

As is Brilley

Silva shows them how it's done, 5th place for him

But not for long as Vilela is one tenth faster

Kamikaze knocks off a couple off hundredths of Vilela's time

As does McGregor

And Hunsley, too

First runs done, this are the current standings

Byrne now on his second run, he improves, but only a few hundredths and stays last

As conditions now get worse every minute, now one is able to improve his time, which means that Ouen Edvardsen will start from pole.
A good decision by him and his team to go out that early, congratulations!

15th isn't that bad for not having used a boost once more. Maybe, with a bunch of luck, even points might be possible. But let's see how the race starts. The first important thing is to have a good start.

Pretty happy with the result, considering that I didn't use a boost. And if it will rain everything is possible.

So many boost thrown away... And only 9th! The usual!

With plenty of boost it's a bit disappointing.

Very lucky to became 2nd! However, spotting the screenshot I'm wondering what I could have been if we didn't need to overtake Ireland in our run! (the gap seems smaller then 3 seconds)

Let's hope we can win a race again!!

Round 14 - Oulton Park - The Race part 1/3

Welcome everybody to the race today at the Oulton Park circuit. In a rainy qualifying yesterday Ouen Edvardsen was the fastest man and took pole position, ahead of Maikel de Boer. Championship leader Aspenström only managed to get p17 in this tricky conditions, so it's the big chance today for his rivals to close the gap.

Unlike yesterday the sun is shining, at least at the moment, but the weather forecast says that there are rain clouds coming towards us in one hour

The red lights are already on, so let's go straight to the track

A great start by de Boer, he's side by side with Edvardsen.

And he takes the lead!

Silvestre kept his place and is behind the Finn now

Nikolov in 4th

Hunsley has lost one position to Kamikaze, and Vilela has passed McGregor

Silva is in 9th

Tafuro in 11th, he has passed Kederer

The field is rushing towards Shell Oils Corner

No overtaking attempts at the top of the field

Vilela with a great move passes Hunsley on the outside

Nobody wants to risk to much here, everyone stays in the line

That's Maverick, he has touched Johnson under braking

He spins!

And is facing in the wrong direction now

Another car hits him and he crashes into the tyrewall! That's the end of Maverick's race!

Antunis and Aspenström are stuck and lose some places

At the front de Boer is still leading

Tafuro overtakes Girard

Copeman tries at the same place, but Byrne blocks him

Next lap Silva wants to pass McGregor, but the Australian defends his position

Fastest lap for de Boer as Silva tries again

He uses the slipstream and gets past

Byrne wants to pass Aspenström into Cascades

But the Swede has the better traction and keps his place

McGregor under big pressure locks up his brakes

And Johnson uses this situation to pass Kederer

The battle for p20, Antunis wins it

That's McGregor running wide! He tried to defend against Tafuro and got off the racing line in Island Bend!

A high speed spin, let's hope this goes well

It did, McGregor catched the car and avoided to crash in the wall, but he's in last now

With four laps done, here are the standings

Fastest lap by Tafuro

And here the rest of the standings

Silva now right behind Hunsley

Aspenström only in 18th, he'll be praying for some rain to mix the grid up

Edvardsen has spun! No collision, he just was to fast in the corner

Yellow flags now being waved, hopefully everyone slows down now

After a power spin he continues in 20th

Nikolov, Kamikaze and Vilela now all up one place

And Silva tries to make that two by passing Hunsley, but fails

de Boer with a comfortable lead

Silva can't find a way to pass the Englishman

Marinescu shows how it can be done, p13 now for him

Antunis and Copeman still fighting at the back of the field

Vilela really close to Kamikaze, I think we'll soon see an overtaking attempt

Girard in 9th still holding up Johnson who seems to be faster

And Silva finally finds a way past Hunsley

Edvardsen fights back through the field

That's already quite a gap, Silva is really fast today

Jantsher defends against Brilley as we see the standings after 9 laps

Brilley takes the inside

and gets past

But Jantsher fights back

Three man side by side, don't be stupid, guys!

He doesn't want to give up

After 5 corners Brilley finally wins the fight

Byrne is the next one who tries

And he passes Jantsher way easier than Brilley did

Johnson attacks Girard and passes him

The battle for p7, Hunsley vs Tafuro

That gap was already bigger some laps before, Silvestre is chasing de Boer!

Tafuro goes out of the slipstream

and overtakes Hunsley

A few seconds later Byrne does the same with Brilley

Antunis is off!

He had too much speed into turn 1

This drops him back behind McGregor

Silva is off at Island Bend!

He was too fast while trying to close the gap to Vilela

This drops him back to last place

Meanwhile the gap between the top 2 is under one second

Girard with the wrong line in Hislop's

Kederer passes him, and Vukcevic tries too

But Girard gets back on the track and shuts the door

With the first stops to come soon, it's time for a little brake. Stay tuned!
