Good evening from Barcelona.
Today we strated into the Pre-Season tests here at Barcelona with our new built Porsche F1 car.
The team has been here for some days to prepare the cars, and today our drivers arrived in Barcelona after supporting their local football team Schalke 04 for their away-game in the Euro League at the Czech capital Prague.
Both drivers appeared totally tired and not in the condition to set proper laptimes. Despite their condition they got into their cars and tested several setups to get used to the Porsches... HAving set the 6th & 7th fastest laptimes for now they are very happy with both performances - the cars and their own
They've already gone to the team's truck as they have to work tomorrow and will join the team back in Italian Fiorano on monday.
The aim of Porsche F1 Team for the season is to develop the cars' performance and to end up in the TOP 4 in the manufacturers championship. For the drivers championship we do not have any special aims, havin one of the drivers in the TOP 5 would be a huge success.
All other teams the best of luck for the remaining 2 days here in Barcelona!!

I have paid your first installment of $1200 GP4 Dollars into your virtual bank accounts. Now is the time for you to decide how you will spend it on your car upgrades for the next event at Fiorano.
As per Rule 6:
Grip +1 = $2
Power +1 = $30
Currently all cars have 14000 grip and 720 power. You may choose to spend the money however you wish. You must advise me of your decision before the start of each event, either via PM or in this thread. (You don't need to wait to be asked; you have the same $1200 budget for every race, so don't miss the deadline!).

SVR ready for the match
The first pre-season tet round had been very interesting for SVR. Supermonty says : " All it's OK on our car. We've tested lot of setups and we're satisfied with the grip. Fiorano will be a next main step to increase global performance car"

Thanks all. Everyone seems to be focussing on aero development for more grip for Fiorano.
Just to be clear - the power & grip values will reset for the first event (Quattro Raceway) to 14000 & 720 bhp.
@Milos - are you team owner of Dragon now? Because brasspanels announced the team...?
There are 5 Team Owner slots still available if anyone else wants to join in.

haha. OK well in future it is the Team Owner who will decide the upgrades, but since they will be reset for Quattro (event #1) I've just used the numbers you provided for Dragon this time.

No I don't apply fuel penalties to testing events.

We have made good progress with our engine upgrades, but our aero development appears to be behind other teams. The guys at the factory are working hard, and we still hope to be competative.

Sorry Tom I won't be able to submit any laptime I'm afraid. I don't have brakes in game.
G25 is ok in profiler and other games but just don't react to the brake pedal in the configuration panel or in game.
Anyone having had this problem ?
For Fiorano, all money on grip please.

@pentagonalface - I can see you're not installing the track correctly. Anyway, the event finishes today, so let's try at Fiorano.

Vimal had a similar issue with his DFGT, I sent him my control set. Did he fix it I have no idea.
It's probably not the same as the one for a G25, maybe instead using one of the default templates try creating your own control set? Then calibrate and set the brake to the brake pedal.

Pre-Season Testing 1 Report
The 6 new teams arrived at Barcelona for the first test of Season 4. It was an event of mixed fortunes - some teams went very well, but others struggled.
Former champion Jcaranti demonstrated he has the speed to win a 2nd title, with a searing lap in the GP4Forever Racing car. But rookie team-mate pentagonalface had technical issues, and did not set a time.
It was a mixed session for Dragon, who set the pace for most of the session with Milos, but team-mate and Team Owner brasspanels (Vimal) was sidelined by Team Owner duties, and did not leave the garage.
Team Centra had fairly good pace.
Super-team SVR were the fastest of the Keyboard runners and supermonty took 4th overall. A very promising result.
Porsche had very consistent performances from both drivers which will give Team Owner Cosmic (Lutz) the confidence that they are maximising their potential in the beautiful Porsche V6.
Propping up the timesheet was the Ecurie Mistral of Carlitox; the team were beset by technical problems all session. They will be hoping for an easier session at Fiorano.

The second test is now in progress. Please download the new version of the mod here.
