Yeh, a new mod is always welcome. ^^

But.. One thing, I watched some onboard videos at youtube.com, and I if I'm correct your swheel is really stretched isn't it? It's way too wide and too low. Isn't it?

How about making a real looking swheel, I know about the size limitations, but it's not a problem for me, but a false swheel is.

Remember that I may've mistaken..

Cheers.

we know about that,i had to stretch the wheel to make it reach the hands, and i know for a fact that we would get complaints saying the gap between hands and wheel is unrealistic blah blah blah..and there is only so much space to actually add the textures to,so its a compromise..remember gp4 is an old game and quite limited..the only way to get around it imo is to have full 3d wheels but seems people dont like the way it rotates as its part of the helmet..but i may give it a go and see how it looks..

@ Lee

Thanks for reply.
I would really like to have a realistic wheel, even if it's too big. Size is not a problem, but unrealistic wheel is.
If you can, give it a go!

About those 3D arms, I've never liked them, but feel free to make them if you want to.

Cheers.

rfactor mods have steering wheels moving through stationary hands, not very real is it but people dont complain about that..this is still an early release as it says in the read me and some files will be adjusted later on..

if you check the read me file...the work was done by lee & myself..
thats two people....we both have full time jobs...

we asked around many weeks ago for help with various items such as pit crews
& steering wheels etc..we got no offers....

the read me file says ...conversion....

we converted the car as is...also the steering wheel..

this is steering wheel that came with mod & looks fine..

3d wheels attached to the helmet give a really crap look & feel imo..

we give a good conversion here & a lot of extra work on top...

anyone wanting....feel free to make the pit crews...pit stands..
garage textures... another steering wheel.....etc....

it can then be released as an add on for this mod.......

sorry, i really don't want to push you for the release of the pitcrews. It was only a question. And i don't have a clue about converting or painting the pitcrews, otherwise i would help you if i could.

I played around 30 minutes and I found this conversion really great, even if it's not complete at the moment and difficult to run with high-res textures.

BTW, I found the physics way too fast for Champ Cars (1:14.4 in race for Justin Wilson whereas the CCWS after-2003 pole lap record is around 1:19.0), and too esay to drive, even without Launch Control and Traction Control. But if you want, I have a Champ Car physics I made some time ago, which respect real laptimes (at least at Montreal), and that slide more without driving aids, without being to hard to control. I could adapt the perf file to this physics if needed. Let me know ;-)

forgot about you...
would have included you for beta testing.....

don;t forget....high res textures are 2048 x 2048
& car lod 0 is quite detailed..
helmet textures..steering wheel etc..all high & needs
something decent to run it......

I think I enabled everything with shadow in it, but still ... :)
maybe someone could share his cfg to be certain? ;)
