Good to know the mod finally works for you in full colours!

Building new tracks is very time consuming. Especially when it's a street circuit with a lot of buildings close to the track ;-)

Do You Erix (and 1991 mod team) have some plans to update '91 mod with some cars (ligier, coloni, larrousse, fondmental, lambo,...)?
I'm not complaining about mod, it it great. This is just 'simple' question (I got that idea when I see that '91 mod for rF maybe will have all cars from '91 and I think that they will have some cars from your mod)

Can't speak for Erix, but I believe I read earlier that there were no current plans to add the additional cars....

The updated Barcelona track is currently in the waiting room. Phoenix is still under construction and another track is being updated. Lots of fun to come in the next months!

None of the other cars will be made. Besides Larrousse they were not competitive anyway... We respected GP4's limitation to 11 teams. We made that decision back in '03, when CSM was just a rumour ;)

Thanks Erix, I can say that I was expecting that answer but I can't help myself to not say it (secretly hoping for more cars, smoething like '79 beta, but...)
It is OK, I totaly understand that mod is limited to 11 teams because of structure of GP4 and I can say that I'm happy with teams that you include in '91 mod.
Now looking forward about new tracks (seen video of Catalunya circuit, jummy), atleast that will bring more authentic atmosphere to '91 mod.

A thought crossed my mind the other day... what about the *proper* TV overlays that were used in the 1991 season? Don't get me wrong, I like the ones that are included, but having seen a few 1991 races, I feel it's too, well, modern, for its time.

I don't think that full screen timing is possible in GPxPatch(well, I've not seen it yet).

One more thing.

Couple of months ago I have installed the 1991 trackpack. It works pretty well, BUT... Silverstone and Hockenheim always crash when loading a race. The rest of the tracks look like those from 1991 and work fine. The only problem are those two ones. I always receive an error message.

Do you also encounter such problem? I have installed :"Plus Trackpack", "1991 Trackpack" and "1991 update 01" . No results, though.

Msg error on release resources ....???

If leave activated in gpxpatch options:
Debug mode, details medium and cpu 0.
Calibrate the graphics also:
Advanced graphics options recalibrite.

Check in trackpack if the files WAD these two tracks are correct.

Just follow the README the MOD 91 that there will be no mistake.

This error message there is exactly spoke
Have to leave activated in gpxpatch options
In debug mode details medio and cpu 0.

But I believe that the error is occurring at trackpack.

Install the MOD 91, the tracpack, update and trackpack 2.

Just open the MOD by the CSM and play.

To run the 5 lines of 1991 is only to download them
And install in the directory of the game
C: Program Files Grand Prix 4 Infogrames.

It still crashes...

Well, I will have to do without German and British GPs...I didn't like these circuits anyway ;)


I tried everything - no improvement...It brings me down...the only two, stubborn tracks which won't co-operate. Even on Christmas Eve they won't show off "human" feelings.

All right. Let's put jokes aside. Can anyone give me a DETAILED, STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTION how to install the 1991 trackpack so everything worked fine? (I have read the instruction from the readme of the mod but Silverstone and Hockenheim still crash)

I want the instruction like (Step 1 - ewfwff , Step 2 - feqwifduf , Step 3 - fsfuh),and so on...



I'm really sorry that I am being a pain in your @$$ but I really enjoy the 1991 mod and can't stand the feeling of missing some important step which is crucial to make the mod work well. I know that you, the creators of the mod, have put a lot of efforts and free time into this project and that's why I will not rest until I make it work to the full extent.

So only Silverstone and Hockenheim crash... It may well be that the anim_nt.wad isn't working properly. Those are the only two non-tobacco GP's and they share the anim_nt.wad.

Can you tell me at which point during the loading process this takes place?

Is it before you see the weather screen?
Then the .dat is corrupt and you need to reinstall the PLUS trackpack and 1991update01 (the updated trackpack).

Is it at 80-90% of the loading process?
One of the wad's is corrupt.

To determine which wad is corrupt could you try this for me:

At the configurables, select "uk" Grand Prix, set track loading method to "load all tracks". Now when you're ingame, select Imola instead of Silverstone and load the track. Does it crash?
If it crashes, the cars.wad is broken. please reinstall the mod and the update.

If it didn't crash, do this:
Start TSM directly without using CSM. Load the 1991_real profile and click on "Load tracks". When TSM is done loading you start GPxPatch and start GP4 with it. Select Silverstone and load the track. Does it crash?
If it crashes then the track file is corrupt, you can fix it by installing the PLUS trackpack.

If both tests did not make gp4 crash then my best guess is that the anim_nt.wad is broken. Reinstalling the mod should fix that.
