Here it is :)

Another thing... Well when I built my track, i think it was too low, because without a skydome, I get this grey area between ocean and sky. What is it?

The skydome covers/hides this without problems. If i raise my track .GP4 and dat say 40m, my ocean in dry weather covers this. In the wet however, my outer ocean isn't visible due to fog, only the lagoon (light blue) is.

Without the skydome, is it possible that the grey area is getting drawn through uphill bits of track in wet weather for some reason? If I think about it, if say you are coming up to a piece of track going uphill and you look straight through it, you are looking near to the horizon. (where the grey bit isn't covered by skydome) If you look through a downhill section of track there is all my land underneath with normals pointing in my direction (hiding the grey bit), which might explain why it's only the uphill bits with this problem. Does that make any sense, or have I just turned a little crazy? ;)
Thanks chaps :)

Set clipping distance to 0! Then it might work. I'm not sure.

Thank you, I've tried it though and it doesn't work unfortunately :)

You've got the sky in the new images! But you can see the clouds! For me looks all ok.
There is little cloud in this sky texture. Take another sky texture. then looks this good.

But in the latest images the skydome isn't there, it's the one GP4 generates.
And when I go into wet weather, I get the problems in the previous page with the track surface :(

The terrain objects should have "NLAND" as class and the skydome should have "MISC" as class. Set the clipping distance to 0 and scale the skydome bigger so it will not interfere with the sea.

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?

Thanks Turbo Lover, I'll give that a try! Do you think the wet weather problem with the .bins is caused by the terrain class being wrong?

EDIT - I tried deleting the skydome (so there shouldn't be a problem with the sea) and setting the terrain class, but I'm still getting the wet weather issue :(

Could you pass me the track so I can have a close look at it?

Thanks Turbo Lover, it's very kind of you. :) I think the whole problem might have been some kind of issue with my F1 graphics.cfg file. I deleted it after having put the objects in their correct classes, scaling the ocean, raising the whole track 50m and deleting the skydome, and here is the result.. all seems to be as it should now :) The darker ocean is there, so is the dynamic weather, and the track is displaying correctly in the uphill sections :)

So I think I can release it this weekend, if people have the same problem I had then I guess the track is out there so it can be looked at :)
Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate it :)

I'm glad to read it works WITH dynamic weather :) well done !

you still have the "broken" f1graphic.cfg ? could you send it to me together with the working one ? I'm very interested in studying them ...

I'm tentatively thinking about building another track, and i was wondering.. is it possible to copy a corner from one track and transplant it into another? Say if I wanted to build a circuit made of my favourite corners from other GP4 tracks, could I copy the say 30 sectors that make up the corner, and glue them onto my WIP track? Or would I have to build the track like normal, and try to get it to match? :)

I started to work on this a long time ago so half of the task is done : you can export a single corner by using File\Export\Partial .dat BUT the Import partial .dat does not exist yet :P

Thanks for your reply Laurent! :)
I guess it'll have to wait a while then, unless there's another way? ;)

Nice feature, Laurent ;).

Maybe exporting the track database of the existing track and re-importing it into the new track could be a solution. But it imports the whole track as far as I know. Maybe you have to tweak it a bit to get good results ;-).

Thanks, yeah I've given that a try but not managed to get it to work. Perhaps another approach would be to import the section of track from the .GP4 file and use it as a guide to build the .dat over. It wouldn't be exact though..
