Hi guys,

Am having an issue trying to get my track to work in game. At the moment, as soon as I click 'Play', GP4.exe crashes. I've redone the CC-line as that can be the cause of some problems, but it still crashes.

My .dat and .wad files are here if anyone wishes to test it their end or see if they can find anything that I can't: [dl.dropboxusercontent.com]

always narrow down the error margin......is it dat or wad........

use a default dat & try it with your wad.....if it loads it's the dat file & visa versa...

this case it's the dat file......


your flag commands may be in the right order but they were not in the right places.....also make sure the pitlane where it connects to the tracks actually does this....i.e not above or below it......same for start/end of track.....

- There are no Bank Description commands in most of the pitlane, and therefore no room for pitstops.
- There is only one track camera.

This is a quite interesting point!
Lots of tracks don't have a bank description in the pitlane and work well though, e.g. Oulton Park. Once I added all missing commands to Oulton Park, but from that time on, the track crashes every time...
Anyone knows something about this issue and/or banking-commands in the pitlane in general?

I second Paulo on the fact banks commands are more than advised for pitlane sectors between fences begin and fences end flags...

More generaly, the track could not work for many possible other troubles :
- only 1 camera and thus it leads to error (starting from some in GP4Builder itself). So create at least a second one.
- Last track sector is too far from the start so it's better to delete it
- final pitlane sector might never work ingame because pitlane must reach the track very gently and not with a very hard angle like it does here...

It's surely not the only troubles as my tests didn't get the track working so far...even with these 3 tricks

i got the track loading using the dat file with above mentioned changes....
still plenty wrong with it tbh, but thats the learning process for you,....

many attempts will be binned but you wil get there in the end......

But as promised I made a list of several tracks those do not contain bank description-commands in the pitlane. I only had a look at the tracks beginning with a and b.

So, list of tracks, those do partly/completely not contain bank-description-commands in the pit:
Adelaide (at least 1988-version),
Adria Raceway,
Albacete,
Assen,
Balcarce,
Brands Hatch, at least Indy-version (pseudo-version, once included in an DTM-trackpack, I think. A note tells me, that this track is crashing anyway),
BrĂ¼nn and
Oulton Park (as I said).

if you look at for example default melbourne .dat file you will see it has no bank description commands on most of the entry sectors & same for exit....there are commands there at pitlane like in for example the albacete dat file..

the reason i used no bank description commands on albacete is simple i didn't need to generate a 3d surface.this was covered by the tracks description commands.....compare the two & you will see what i mean.....

albacete like outon loads just fine........i it ain't broke don't fix it......use original dat files as a reference but some changes will or won#t work....

Hey all,

CotA-track has got a mysterious error. GP4Builder says, that a verges flag value is incorrect, although in my eyes everything looks fine. Deleting the flag and creating a new one hasn't fixed the problem so far.
What more can I do?

In the sectors window the kerbs-checkboxes were disabled, although the two sectors have got kerbs on both sides. I re-enabled the ceckboxes and everything is fine now. Thanks (Y).

Weird that the checkboxes seem to disable themself.
