Hey guys,

I've got some problems with a new track at the moment. In-game everything works fine, but when I exit the game, GP4 crashes. GPxAssertions tells me following error:

Quote
0x00558577 -> Total number of kerb profile definitions (cmd 0xca) >= 32 (1024 for GP4).
0x00558577 -> Total number of kerb profile definitions (cmd 0xca) >= 32 (1024 for GP4).

The doubling is no copy&paste-mistake. It really gives this sentence twice ;-).

What does this sentence exactly mean and what can I do to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance (Y).

If you are playing GP4, it means you have more than 1024 sectors with CA command... You can remove all kerbs in you track by opening the .dat and using Del button and pick All kerbs. (I assume you know that BTW)

LOL, so we have one more problem for CotA ;). I will see, wheteher I can decease the number anyhow without touching the driving experience too much.

Thanks for your explanation, Laurent :-).

How do you guys do elevation for real circuits? I'm using Google Earth and then exporting it to a CSV file, but am finding that it brings out imaginary bumps and isn't always 100 percent accurate. What do you guys do?

1. I use GoogleEarth's elevation-profile feature (not that reliable, but gives a good impression about the maximum height-differences) + a good Youtube-video (to get the real bumbs and elevations between each corners).

2. I take all the note and write them down into a trackmap.

3. I use the 'cosine'-feature in GP4Builder's 'Modify track sectors'-window for as much parts of the track as I can.

4. For those parts, where the cosine-feature is not realistic, you have to use the 'track profiler' in GP4Builder or you have to set the z-values for each sector manually. Before that you may have to calculate them with a special programm ;-).

Oh, BTW:
For the bumps, you can use the 'randomness'-feature in GP4Builder ;-).

New weird grey faces... can you tell how you "added new graphics" exactly ?
And eventualy what they are supposed to look like (in GP4Builder for instance)

Need some track editing wizard to help me. I've made a simple .dat but when I try to use "Add - Track from .dat" feature I get a message "Indice de liste hors limite (-1)".

I think there is something wrong with my .dat file, but I don't know what - can anyone help please?

You have opened de dat file together with the gp4 file and created a new scene?

Yep, I have opened the original "a1ring.gp4" alongside my S1CT06.dat. Then I deleted all of the track and pitlane in the .dat, and made a simple new track and pitlane. But when I try to create the Graphics scene it craps out.

Its just the original a1ring.wad at the moment. I haven't changed it.

I would get that a lot, but it would work only correctly if I added it to an already existing scene (with at least one dummy object in it), and there was more than one scene.
So if I had a wad with one scene, I would hit add new scene, (it would give me a bridge_dummy object) and then within that scene I would hit add track from dat. Then when that is done, just delete the bridge_dummy object.

I hope that works for you, if not, then I'm stumped :(

Another one from me - I am trying to angle the banking, but not the verge. Like #2 in this image. Is there a simple way to angle only the banking, instead of the verge + banking?

Verges height values let you specify this (in the Sector's F7 command, in the sectors window and in the Modify Sectors window)

Thanks Laurent - but how to make it exactly level with the track?
