@Lo2k - do you know the connection between physics and tracks?
for instance, if i lower the breaking force with the physics editor, the cars often cant stop in time and go off. is that because braking points are defined in the .dats?
so if the braking point is 100m, and give them less braking force they still brake at the 100m even though they may need more room

@Paco: Ok so send me your .dat and I will see what it could be...

@B-tone: no I have no idea about this.
CC cars behaviour, speed and breaking actions are automatically computed in the exe depending on track (.dat) layout and cc-line.
So I assume these computations have been made around 2001 F1 physics standards and aren't really happy to deal with weird new physics settings.

do you know any more about braking, accelerating points with regard to dats, and maybe sector lengths?

Tony, braking ponts are related only to the cc-line radius imho. the exe look at the radius then decide how much brake force needs to applied in regards of the 2001 physics.
probably more than one piece of code is involved in the braking and probably the physic editor only change one value. from this the bad behaviour when you lower the brake force. P.S. did you got my mails??

btw, i've tried to use the new fence generator to make the wall shadows. they look nice but the game crash. maybe it needs to be splitted in several parts. needs more tests.

Hi and.... HELP!!! I build a track but did not get it to work.(GP4 falling back to Windows when clicking the drive-button.
Tryed everything (nearly 4 hours) and all that I could find in your forum but didn`t find anything. That happens to every track I build. I guess it`s something with Pitlaneflags.
Would be great if someone could help.

Thanks, Jan

@ lo2k: Yup i understand the problem. Why not making a new part every 50, 100, 150, (a fixed number) ... faces?
That way the number of parts isn't that big. On the other hand we can get different trackbanks (gravel, grass, concrete,...)
Of course I don't know if its possible since i don't know how .dat files are structured.

@ jan_83: I want to have a look at your dat, but i can't download it.

@ jan_83 : I found the error : It's the pitlane fences begin and the pitlane fences start -> they must be inside the trackbanks as stated in mavericks tutorial.
btw: track looks good :)

you can get the modified .dat here : [users.pandora.be]

Thanks. You must download with right click and "save target".

Not the best Webhost.

@Zjokke: ZM should do the trick as you can slice object to keep only the part you need.

One step further. Download by right clicking and "save target as":

It`s only a test-track. Alot of work needed.

JC_1507, cc-line isn't working cause there isn't one, so cc-cars will go straight ahead until a barrier stops them :P

Actually when there is no cc-line the cars try to follow the middle of the track.

But they don't seem to take corners into account, so they accelerate until they reach a corner that they can't take, and then .

@ Jan_83 (or anyone how can explanin this to me)

I've created a testtrack (also based on monza) and it's working fine. I've used the same textures for banks and rails (for banks: monza2001_page_333.tex , for rails: monza2001_page_329.tex) as you did, too. I have also used the monza2001_page_329.tex for tarmac. The problem is that banks and rails have these allocated textures, but the tarmac has not (it's transparent). How can I get the texture to be displayed/visible?

you'll need to generate the bins to get the tarmac displayed ingame.
